2 months ago I got scared about making my health worse, but as the fear has subsided and I physically feel better and sleep better now I don't see the point in sobriety anymore. The cravings are strong. This is another reason to ctb.

We escape the pain of living with copes that cause even more pain.

Imo the only point to sobriety is keeping ourselves in check when we know for a fact that we can't control our impulses/ stop ourselves from overdoing whatever vice grips us

If your fear of harm completely subsides, one of these days you might end up drinking way too much. Sometimes the longer a person holds out after 'cold turkey', the more they'll overindulge if/when they break their streak. Proud of you for 2 months btw; glad you're sleeping better.

I can speak from personal experience that blacking out, waking up in a pool of your own sick, and suffering from severe acid reflux for 3+ weeks is a recipe for never desiring alcohol nearly ever again (it was always worse at home so that I could justify drinking more since I wouldn't need to drive anywhere). Still wouldn't recommend.

I had made sure to put myself in a position where no one knew how badly I craved it, so no one could help. As long as you have someone to help you out, or if you truly trust yourself to drink responsibly, then fuck it- crack open a few cold ones or throw back a mojito or a rum n coke. Maybe when you're out and about for lunch, or at a concert, etc.
There will *always* be much worse things to crave, such as the inclination to hurt yourself or others.

If you're trying to keep your sobriety streak alive, best of luck! Physically feeling better and sleeping better are two "blessings" that some people cannot attain-:no matter how painfully sober they remain.
