I once had access to it for the first few days, then it was blocked by some system program along some other websites except YouTube. I made a request to my boss about it.

Next day I logged in and realized it's restored.

Feels good.

Nothing comforts me more than this forum atm. It's a damn good anxiolytic.

Well we did have a chat about my mental health a few days before Christmas. There was a day where I couldn't work at all, immense adrenaline, brain fog, etc.

Surprisingly he was fine with it and understanding.

As for the website specifically, no, he only said he'll check it. I mean I did it say the forum helped to retain my focus.

It's funny as previously such websites weren't blocked, I was wondering if my depressing and concerning search history contaminated the other PCs of the network.

While it's cool that your boss is chill about you visiting this website during work, very few people are chill about anything suicide related that isn't extreme anti-suicide so definitely be careful about where you use this website and who you talk to about this website.

I think that it is quite rare to find someone who is understanding, at least you got that reaction, I would never personally see it as being beneficial to open up about being suicidal at all as it could very easily just make things worse.

I would be uncomfortable discussing this with an employer. If you have work issues down the road, your mental health may come into question- an assumption they may make based on the simple fact you frequent a site focusing on suicide. I'm confident that the large majority of members here work very hard to not share anything about this site to anyone. If not for yourself, then for other members. Kudos to you for working for an employer who not only let's you surf the net at work, but allows you make special requests for access to a particular site. I've never worked in that kind of environment.

on one hand, i'm really glad your workplace is allowing this site to not be blocked for you. i have said in other threads that this site buys people time.

but (and i truly hope you ignore this but i'm just saying this out of negativity and assumption) i'm pretty sure your boss is just ok with unblocking this site so they can monitor any potential activities or plans that could be harmful to the general populace, because the general populace has this awful idea of suicidal people. which is that: suicidal people will try to take others down/kill other people with them before they go.

in reality, (at least from what i see on this website) the people on this website have no vitriol or vindictiveness against the general populace; they're too damn tired to want to take others down, and not only that, the manner in which to do that and to take others down with them is so violent and painful.

i feel that the people on this forum just want a peaceful and least painful way to go. i wish more people would understand that. but people are too selfishly worried about themselves and their loved ones that they don't stop to think about others unless it directly threatens them.
