I know most people say sleeping is so peaceful and it reminds them to death. I had this feeling too in the past. However I am taking now a medication which makes the worst nightmares I could imagine. Very unpleasant stuff (my mind knows how to torutre me with my weak spots). I hate this medication so much but I am dependent on it. I even get tortured in my sleep :(

maybe it's not the right medicine for you then.
It should actually get better ...
Is there perhaps an alternative?

I also have nightmares quite often in these past years. When I wake up I feel so stressed out sometimes and I'm glad it was just a dream. You should tell your doctor that medicine gives you nightmares.

A bit offtopic, but my retinas are detaching so I often get flashing lights when I close my eyes. When I reach the point where I have to use a cane, I'm kicking the bucket.

Did go to doctor to get it checked?

Absolutely not sadly. It is the only medication that helped against my depression and it has horrible side effects. Life is so fucking cynic as always.

I have nightmares a lot of the time but it doesn't take away my enjoyment of sleeping. It must be hard to deal with, medication is supposed to help us but yet it causes awful side effects. I have had side effects in the past from medication, its very unpleasant.

I had the same side effect with antidepressants. Horrible, gory, bloody, violent, vivid nightmares every night. I had one that my entire family was murdered and their bloody bodies were scattered all over the living room. One of the many horrible side effects that antidepressants gave me.

I have been having those same kind of gory, violent and bloody nightmares for years whether I'm taking meds or not. :( It's horrible - the nightmares themselves, and that even sleep can't be a form of respite or escape anymore.
