I don't know how to put it into words exactly, but for someone who used to have an active sex life, it took a huge emotional toll on me. I could go my life without it and I'd be better off.

Never thought I'd have a problem with it but as time passes, intimacy brings on its own issues. Questions of self worth and respect since i was essentially nothing more than what I could give to someone else.

I can relate to this. I used to read a lot of fanfiction as a teenager, and I think that ruined sex for me. Going into something with sky high and completely unrealistic expectations is bound to be a bad experience. But also the sex I've had has been kind of meh and awkward, even by normal standards, more like a chore than anything else. I don't mind going without it.

If you've masturbated OP then the orgasm from sex is very similar but sometimes a bit more intense. Also I found with sex you enjoy the whole process more leading up to orgasm, not just the orgasm. It's a great feeling tbh especially when you're with someone you find attractive and care about.
