How to search threads?

Is this possible? I'm a new user (though have been a lurker for years). If someone could answer this questions, and also provide any other useful information they think a new user might want to know, I'd greatly appreciate it!!

There's a search bar in the upper right corner. If it's not there you may need some more posts. There is also an advanced search.

i dont believe its necessarily post. also, things like comments and likes will unlock it too.
I believe its there to discourage people from just creating accounts just to search for one thing. aka see the current thing going on now with the BBC

From my experience, the amount seems to be somewhere between 20-25 posts.
