How do you respond when people say "but you are so loved and have so much to live for!"

I hear that alot. It's kind of a generic statement used by therapists and family.

It doesn't really matter if you're loved by a few other people if you hate yourself and feel like shit 24/7.

My family say this to me all the time!!! I just say "try telling my brain that" and they never have a reply.

I say I KNOW THAT, and in spite of that I have still felt this way for a long time.

i just accept it and say "you're right" or "i love you too" or something along those lines.

it's a ridiculous statement, though, because i don't exist for anybody. i don't have to live because they'd "miss" me when i'm gone. they don't know the true me, they only have their own idea of me. that's what they love - who they think i am, not who i actually am.

Ha! That's kind of my reaction too. When I hear that, I just hear them telling me they have no idea who I am at all. Phony caring

Me too. I'm not a fan of conflict, so I tend to go under the radar and keep to myself. Things might not end well if I reveal myself for who I really am.
