• Hey Guest,

Hey guys. So Id really prefer jumping from a high enough place (but the bridge is too far away and I dont have energy) or getting hit by a train. But I do not want to involve an innocent person like the train driver. This means that I'll probably have to ctb via hanging. Full suspension. However when I put the rope around my neck and pull as much as I can, Ive never been able to pass out thru this and most of the time I get this puking feeling like I am about to puke and its a horrible horrible feeling. Is my placement wrong? I tend to put the rope very high up around my neck. I thought that was the correct way? What can I do to avoid this puking feeling?

Hi! I've never experienced that feeling while "practicing". Every body is different and may react differently. Had you eaten recently at that time?

Same, I put the rope very high up around my neck. Where you can press the carotid arteries well. With the knot behind the neck (in the middle). I use the noose knot, and the strength of my arms to pull and close it (for practice)

Do you feel a strong pulse on both sides of your neck? Maybe if you have a more muscular neck it will be a bit harder to feel the pulse and block the arteries.

What kind of rope do you use? Reading users here, many suggested 12 mm rope, so I also bought one of that size.

Hey thanks for the reply. I dont think I have a muscular neck. I think it should be rather thin. I can feel quite strong puls. May I ask have u ever been able to pass out from just pulling with the strength of ur arms? Also I think my rope is either 10 or 12mm. I think 10. Best wishes

Sure. I'll tell you about my experience, but other people may feel different things.

More or less after a few seconds, less than 5, and applying pressure with the force of my arms pulling upwards. Vision begins to blur or darken, and the body feels lighter like floating. And there I stop applying pressure. I don't do it with violence, just pull with some force (I'm not very strong either lol)

To practice, I sit on my bed, arrange the knot in its place and leave it as close to the neck as possible, then I apply pressure so that the knot begins to close well until it tightens and I begin to feel what I mentioned before.

I hope I have expressed myself well, my English is not very good. I hope more users can help you and share their experience.

It's a gag reflex and a horrible feeling to have while also not being able to breathe. One of the several reasons that makes me hate hanging. I had it on my last attempt of partial hanging. My weight was being balanced on my feet in a squatting position and I moved my feet slightly to increase pressure on the rope when i slipped and lost my balance and put too much pressure on my neck. It was a blurry moment of me gaging unable to breathe and scrambling around to hold onto the wall to try and get up. I think it's due to the rope tightening around the neck and pushing the tongue up the throat? Hanging does sometimes cause protruding tongue so that is my guess. I don't think it happens to everyone, i certainly don't see many mention it here..maybe there is a physical difference? maybe it happens to people with severely sensitive gag reflex?...idk but I don't think it's something you did wrong.

Hey thanks for the reply. Yeah this is so annoying. Its such a horrible feeling and I think if it werent for this Id have an easier time commiting to hanging. I do have times where I dont have the gagging reflex but I don't know what Im doing differently.
