Hi,

Once you CTB, there will be expenses for your family to handle - such as cremation/burial, any medical expense that occur, maybe expenses to whoever handles your body, funeral/celebration of life, any last minute bills etc…

Has anyone thought of how to make funds for that easily assessable?

Like I have some cash for things I want someone to mail out but not a huge sum. I don't want to pay in advance to cause suspicion and in case of failed attempt. I just want my money used for anything to do with me so trying to figure that out.

(Open to other discussions on the same topic that may not be money related but related to helping your family settle your affairs.)

You can write it all out on a piece of paper and leave things (money, passwords, etc) for someone to find. However, this does not compel them to follow your wishes. The only thing that forces people to do what you want with what you leave behind is legal documentation, like a will.

I do have all of it written out and I have beneficiaries set up. I'm thinking maybe Venmo and having money in there and maybe my fam will be able to use that to help immediate expenses. Like how's Venmo going to know?

& I know all those legal documents are important but it's such a big task and I need two witnesses at a notary and I'm not trying to involve anyone I know - been isolating myself anyway. I figured lots of people die without one and things get figured out. My dad died without one and I settled his affairs although his were light. Mine are fairly light and I'm doing my best to make it easier.

Thanks for responding :)
