I have terrible pain in my throat from a failed suicide attempt, it shouldn't be like this, I dunno how to locate my carotids.

Try first using your hands, i heard it can take up to 15 minutes to find it that way, and put pressure until you find the point in the neck that will make your vision go dark. I forgot which side is better but im sure its easy to google which takes blood in vs which takes blood out (side that takes blood in seems to be better, and will also prevent swelling of the head after) Use that point as a reference to figure out best position, seems as though side knots work best for that

What worked for me was: I tied a noose and simply kept trying to feel according signals by pulling the noose up. It took me about 30 minutes until I fully "mastered" locating my carotid arteries. You want to try the front end of the noose just above your Adam's apple or somewhere around that area. Try pulling up with different force and remember that your face should not go swollen from built up blood preasure ( maybe just a little bit ). Should work fine with the diameter of a finger thick rope. Other than that, ask questions if you have any

Thanks! I'm using a scarf because I don't have any way to get a rope, I made a noose but it's quite loose... how do you think I should use it because if I make it smaller it doesn't go through my head :/

This will make your chances for success smaller. I would highly suggest getting a rope or something similar. The noose has to be made properly in order to serve its purpose. I wouldn't advise anything other than what I have already said. Also, is your situation urgent? Like do you have to go right now?

I do. I want to go before my birthday which is in 16 days. I guess you're right, I should get a rope somehow. But even with a rope how do you make sure the noose's knot sits behind your neck? What if the noose is big to fit through your head? How do you adjust it?

Have you ever even tried researching on how to tie a proper noose?

I did, and I was able to make a simple knot. But when I tried to put it in my head it was big enough to go through my head but obviously smaller around my neck, I guess they tighten it in the end or something after it's already around your neck.

And that is correct. Also it's why you need a rope not a scarf in order to adjust tightness when your head is in it.
