Discussion how to commit suicide in a psych hospital?

If they have things down pat there as you say wpuldnt it be wise not to attempt. If you fail and are saved youll be in there even longer with even less chance of attempting again and succedding unless your ok with the thought of an extended stay. I understand desperation but why potentially make things harder for yourself in there, no attempt is 100% failproof. Keep your head down, comply and get released, ive been in a psych ward 2 months recently on 5 minute checks due to not engaging with staff, its not worth the agro getting caught brings

You dont want to be saved with brain damage so the fifteen or thirty minutes between checks doesnt allow for any method I can think of while inside. I read an article about someone jumping off a parking garage but one has to both be let outside, and even then calculating the correct height to not end up paralysed is a huge factor.
Its easier to CTB when you dont live in a nursing home in a wheelchair.

I feel exactly the same way. It's almost entirely impossible though, so frustrating. Let me know if you find a way.

I agree with the others - an attempt inside a hospital is doomed to fail and will only get you locked up for longer. Stay strong, say what they want to hear and get out as soon as possible. Once you're back home you'll be able to find the perfect method.

Although risky,here is an idea:
Tourniquet suffocation while on bed at night,cover your neck with blankets so they cannot see the tourniquet,and act sleepy.When they check later in dark room,they will think you sleeping.
They probably will not realize until morning you dead.You must make sure the tourniquet works fast and effective though.

It's not just doomed to fail but think about people in there who are possibly wanting to recover from their illnesses, if you want to avoid traumatising anyone then fellow patients should surely be a concern.

I'd make them kill me. I'm surprised I haven't made people kill me yet. Not like cops, but I mean just people. Hell, I'm awful enough they want me dead anyway. Why not just kill me?

In all my reading over the years I have never understood touriquet, as wouldnt the slightest movement from seizure or unconscious act undo everything to an at least breathable pressure?
Tourniquet seems to be a good way to do the auto erotic asphyxiation thing with a safeguard AGAINST death honestly

You need something (eg a long stick) that will prevent the loop from loosening.

Personally I would never ctb in a psych ward. Think of the effect you'd have on other patients, and staff as well. Maybe you don't care about them, but could you pull it together to obtain a release and then try to ctb? I'm currently in the psych ward and it would really fuck me up if someone here ctb on the unit. And think if another patient followed suit...and some kid lost their parent who could have been helped....you just never know who you effect. And I know staff would be devastated. But maybe I'm in a particularly good hospital or something. These are all people just trying to go about their business and have a life, feed their kids, make it home to their spouse, etc. It really can mess with their career as everyone will be anxious to place the blame somewhere. Just my 2 cents. Too many other lives affected. Unless you are locked up forever and they have thrown away the key, try to do it on the outside when another person is not responsible for your life and safety.

From someone who's been in a psych ward before, I completely understand how they keep you from killing yourself- and how being put in an environment like that makes you want to end it all the more.
I basically just gritted my teeth and pretended to be all happy and dandy, speaking out of my ass to get out of there in record time. If it anything like where I was they're watching the SHIT outta u- I had a security camera in my room when i slept, faculty escorting me from point a to point b like I was in prison. You can't CTB in a place like that. Even if you started dying miraculously, they'd be able to "save" you as soon as you got anywhere. Trust me, play along and get OUT!

Maybe I really dont get the mechanics of it at all. The only account I found from some scanned pages was an elderly woman with a scarf and it was written in such a way from her perspective that it isnt possible. Seeings how she would have literally been a ghost writer

Lots of people have succeeded with it, it's not a pretty method at all but it definitely does work and is probably the only way to actually ctb in hospital if you have the guts because ligature points basically don't exist and the ones that do have weird alarms connected to them that alert the nurses whenever any weight is applied.
Only chance is probably something like the tourniquet method while in the shower immediately after your observations, but if you're on 5 minute obs then it's probably not going to work out unless the nurses are doing their jobs terribly.

Bad idea. Hanging from a bedpost or doorknob is usually the way to go but the staff will be fully prepared for that

I truly believe its near impossible.
Its hard enough to SH nevermind ctb.!
I would just try to act calm and convincing and this will get you discharged sooner than later then you are able to chose the right method and time period needed without fear of being caught.

Probably the best way would be to act out so violently that they would overdose you on sedatives.

Chances are slim, but hell if it doesn't work at least it'll feel like it did. This is how I should start living. Just to go the hospital with a massive freak out and demand to be sedated for the rest of my life. Just put my ass under.

Yes I mean lots of people have succeeded with torniquet, psychiatric hospitals are designed with ligature points in mind. Like others have said though I definitely wouldn't recommend it, when you get caught things will probably get a whole lot worse for you.

I once saw some news article about a woman who hanged herself in a psych ward and later died in the ICU. But it's too risky. And if you get found... it'll be even harder to get out.

What psych hospital are you at where they let you use your phone. That's what I want to know. Btw, you can not ctb I'm a psych ward. It's next to impossible.
