Il preface this by saying idk if itll actually work in the moment but its still neat to feel/do.
Basically find something heavy maybe a couple pounds.
You want someone light enough not to actually damage you but heavy enough for it to still hurt a little bit.
How to,
Lay on your back on the floor, hold said object (i used a decent sized wooden sword) at the tips of your fingers, arms stretched out above you, then try to drop said object onto your gut.
You'll notice or maybe you wont but i did, that you'll instinctively catch the object.
And you can practice it over and over until you can just drop it on yourself without catching it or trying to catch/flinching.
I also have a saying that helps, "don't think, just do."
It means to my understanding at least
Do before you have time to think about what you're doing.
Its hard to get the hang of it but its doable.
Idk how much this will help anyone but it helped me, even in just living my life.
