how to attach rope to the branch-full hanging

do yo wrap it few times around the branch so that you dont fall after you jump from the chair ?

only have experience with partial hanging but one thing i know is that whatever you are trying to hang from make sure its sturdy enough, you do not want to survive with brain damage.
