Discussion How squeamish are you about sharing food/clothing with someone?

I have a close female friend and we sometimes eat with the same spoon and even wear the same used socks/shoes as we have the same foot size. My family thinks this is disgusting.

In most cases I couldn't do it.
Not with someone I don't know very well anyways...but in the past I did do that with my partners...so I don't think its disgusting in itself.
Whatever you feel comfortable with :).

Kissing is said to be more hygienic than shaking hands. I wouldn't mind sharing a spoon, food or a bottle with a friend.

I've only ever been able to do those things with people I was really close to. I don't think it's disgusting in itself, if anything I got the impression that I'm the weird one for being so uncomfortable with it.

I don't think there's anything 'wrong' about it if that person is a close friend or your partner (and they were hygienic). It wouldn't bother me at all .
But with a complete stranger...? No , that's different .Wouldn't like it or do it then.

I share clothes with my sister sometimes, even things like shoes and socks. As for food, I'd be okay letting someone take a bite out of my burger or something, but sharing a spoon I probably couldn't do haha. It's not disgusting though, if it's something you feel comfortable with then more power to you!

As others have said, I think it depends. I am personally not super comfortable sharing clothes but that has to do with my insecurities about my body size and shape and anxiety that I smell bad. With COVID, food stuff is a little bit of a different story, but generally I'm okay with sharing food and food utensils with people I know.

Yeah my brother and i used to share boxer shorts. We had to stop doing it though as hed use them all and id have nothing clean to wear in the mornings and end up going into school commado style.

Not at all. I share food and drinks with casual friends. Male or female, doesn't matter to me. Idk, just never bothered me. Clothes either. I don't mind wearing someone else's clothes, or them wearing mine.

Colds, the flu, hepatitis, and tuberculosis existed before covid. Diseases wouldn't change my behavior.

Clothes I really wouldn't mind as long as the person has good hygiene as i've done it several times before! As for food I'm a lot more cautious. Sharing a spoon I don't think I could do, but tasting eachothers food, if I'm very close to the person, yes I think so.
