People frequently ask questions about how to do certain methods. I'm wondering how much information can we give before it is seen as helping someone ctb? Because any type of information might help someone in that way.
I have a few pictures and articles I've saved and am not sure if it's ok to post them or will it seem like I'm helping, which I don't want to do.

All of it is information available already on the internet that I've just bookmarked.

I see people asking what kind of rope to buy or what kind of knot to tie. Is anyone answering opening themselves up to being accused of helping if that person does go through with it?

You have to use your own judgement and it depends what country you are in too.

Here in the UK it's quite pro-suicide and we have a government that doesn't care about people killing themselves, so it's less strict.

I'm sure the US is quite similar, best to check the actual laws though I guess.

But isn't the whole point of this site to have open discussions about suicide where people can ask about methods. Advising someone about methods when they are asking for it is compassionate, this site is beneficial as it means people are less likely to suffer through failed attempts if they have access to information. People don't have to reply to threads or post information if they don't wish to, that's their personal choice.

I try to just post my experience and what I have tried, so I'm only really documenting things and therefore I'm not advising anyone anymore than Google or a study article is.

It's up to 14 years in prison in the UK so quite hefty and also a demonstration, given the recent case where a woman was given 1 or 2 years for murdering her foster child , that the UK justice system is terribly messed up.

This is off topic but there was a terribly sad case of an elderly woman shooting her suffering husband in the hospital as his request and they arrested her as she left the hospital room. She did a mercy killing. It is horrible and I really just wanted to share some things I found on the internet but I am afraid to do that.
