  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at admin@sanctioned-suicide.net.

I know this forum has definitely got some notoriety on the web and news, and I'm very intrigued actually how long people will think it will last? as there is that change org petition still going.
I know other suicide forums have existed in the past but not lasted long like alt.suicide.holiday (ASH).
However, I honesty cannot find the the reason, why ASH it is no longer accessible online other than severe bullying and people like William Francis Melchert-Dinkel encouraging others to kill themselves.
I had been on other suicide based forums before, however, I'm not 100% sure ASH was one of them because it was ages ago, all that I remember is some user with the word "colonel" in their username, who was toxic and abusive towards other users, who often complained of them in posts and comments.

If I am to guess, I would think that suicide will be more accepted in the future, due to how the world is progressing. However, until then, there may be additional attacks against sites like this, but they don't seem to have been very successful thus far.

Nothing pro choice could ever last long as we live in a society that tries to force us to live until we die from old age. But of course taking away method information would just mean that people have no choice but to resort to risky methods and then they would likely fail and get damage.

In an ideal world there would be no need for suicide forums, as we would be able to all get euthanasia if that is what we want. People should not have to research suicide on the internet, and our right to die should be respected. There is nothing wrong with suicide as living is not an obligation. Life is just endless problems and suffering all for the sake of it anyway. Humans suffer just to die eventually and I see no point to enduring this life when instead I could be peacefully not existing. Pro life just means pro suffering.

I hope to god in my next life I'm attacking this site instead of on it. Unsuccessfully of course.

Why would you want to attack this site in a potential future life...?

i don't think anything will come of the change.org petitions or news attention. we have the right to be here as human beings and we do have the right to die if we want to regardless if that's state or country law. it's human law. if someone really, really wants to go, they'll find a way - and if people would stop with the 'pro-life' nonsense and just be happy that their loved one is no longer in pain, our world would be better off. a lot of the comments on these petitions are from people who have lost loved ones to suicide - their loss is sad, but i'm not that person, so don't try to govern me or estimate the pain that i feel.

I wouldn't worry about the petition at change.org.. The majority of petitions on there end up going nowhere. Nothing magical happens when the required number of petitions is reached. In order to enact change, people have to do a lot more than hit a like button on social media.

As long as one or more people are willing to operate and maintain the site, but ….. not really sure the novelty or interest for these people in the site's purpose/cause or controversial nature will attract their interest beyond a few more years. Just a guess …..

maybe i'm just a dummy, but i personally haven't seen anything that seems like there's a large unified group of people actively fighting against this website on a continual basis. it seems like after the nyt article hype died, people stopped caring about it. the fixthe26 stuff gets hardly any likes/views. and the petitions i've seen don't really have a lot of signatures for how old they are.

i think most people just hop from one cause to the next, depending on what's popular. it's all about what emojis and filters one can use on social media to show what a good person they are.

If they were truly pro-life, school and mass shootings wouldn't even be a thing. Where's the Fixthe26 petition for that??? No... Let's stop people from peacefully ending their own life. We just need more guns so the good guys can stop the bad guys with guns. That has to be the biggest load of SHIT I've heard my entire life.

Hopefully never ever goes away. Feeling horrible, lonely, and wanting to die and having no one to tell or nowhere to vent is an agony and a pain I don't wish on anyone. I hate the desperation that one feels when we cannot obtain information regarding choosing about our own lives. We all deserve to have a place which is secure and let us be ourselves. Prolifers wouldn't understand.

I hope it stays longer for future generation. SS is not just a community for the suicidal but also a platform where people can express themselves where it's difficult to do so in the real world. This is easily a better forum and people have it too good on other sites/forums. Personally I would stay and support the community and get involved but I'm facing health problems at the moment and CTB is my only option. I hope SS stays

Many people are watching and fighting against this forum. You also don't know if users work for authorities. So better be careful with personal info.
I´m afraid one day it will be gone. :ehh:

Hopefully it will last for a long time. This has been a breath of fresh air for me. Talking on here makes me feel less disconnected. If it hadn't been for this site I would have been more stressed and would have to have resorted to more violent methods of suicide.
