Do you plan on setting up some automatic notification for someone to find you? Or maybe set up the expectation that they will hear from you soon, thus causing a search when you inevitably don't respond?

I'm leaning towards someway to automatically notify them within 24 hours of my death but it seems somewhat risky if the notification somehow went out when it wasn't supposed to.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately and I was curious what others' thoughts on the matter were.

For me, I live with someone so they would discover my body when they got home.. if I didn't, I'd set up a timed text. Something that makes them want to check up on me, but not nessisarily go into specifics. In case you fail or accidentally sends, you can play it off like you just got sick or something and just needed help. Then you can leave a note when you walk in your place, letting them know to call the ambulance before coming any further in.

Depending on the day, I think I could be found up to 24 hours later, more or less. My neighbour hung herself just before New Years and they reckon she could've been there at least a day before she was found.

It depends which method but would definitely set up scheduled text or email.

If i do it away from home and quick mergod, I'll set up text to go out with a few hrs.

If at home maybe up to 48 hrs

Personally, I would message someone if I'm about to CTB and I would probably do so in a place where my body can be easily found. I wouldn't want people to be in a doubt about what happened to me. And if the plan failed, I would just play it off as a joke. But that would only happen after I ensure that CTB is the only option.

I think it would depend on when I actually do it. If/when everyone has abandoned me, I'll probably do it out in the middle of nowhere so that my decaying corpse could serve as food for the local wildlife. If I do it before everyone leaves me, then I'd probably want to be discovered very soon to give the people left some closure, so I would do it in a place where my body would be found almost immediately after my death. In that case, I would have a note on my person that states that after I'm cremated, my ashes must be dumped in a landfill.

I was going to organise a time-delayed sms but I won't have phone reception, I already told the venue of my camping ground to my family. I told them that I will be coming back 2 days later, I'm sure if they havn't heard from me in 3 days they will probably come out to get me. They know my car model, so they will know it's my tent.

If I ever get the courage to do it, it would likely be fairly quickly. I would go to a hotel, but one of my partners works from home, and we have a ring camera, and it's very strange for me to leave alone, let alone carrying a backpack (for the supplies)… so it's possible they would immediately know and I'd have to make sure my phone couldn't be tracked, but if I can convince them I've got an appointment that I didn't want them to drive me to for some reason, I'd imagine I'd have a few hours before they'd really know something was wrong. I'd also set automated messages to be sent later that day so that they wouldn't go too long without knowing the what and the why if it all.

A few hours after. I will put the AC the coldest setting to prevent any type of early decomposition. I will do it in a hotel and will leave a message (scheduled to be sent hours after passing) to someone telling them of my decision. That way they prepare mentally and send the cops or the medical examiners to take the body

I'll be wearing my watch which monitors my heart rate and I've set up to notify a few people when my heart stops. A couple of them have keys to my place so they'll probably find me before I decompose and can make sure my cat doesn't go hungry.

Probably only a few hours after. I plan on sending a scheduled message to one of my friends at least 3 hours after I pass, so they could call emergency and spare my parents from seeing me in that way.

It depends on the time. During the day, it'd probably be 10-20 minutes. At night, it'd probably be 8-12 hours before I'd be discovered. I live in a house with a lot of people, meaning I'd be discovered soon after people start waking up.

Could you please support me with detailes?
It's a fitbit heart monitor charge 5. The details on how to set up the e-mail and stuff are all in the instructions included with the device. It costs 199.95 CAD.

What kind of watch is that? I'd like for my fiance to know the moment I die, as to not feel like I've somehow deceived him by not letting him know immediately.

edit: oops just saw your post of it being a fitbit

I live alone and no one cares about me, so a few months or until my dead body starts to stink, and the neighbors notice.

With the methods I have been deciding on, ie; train, bridge, etc. it would probably be pretty quickly, but family-people-I-know, I'm thinking about making a Google doc of a note & posting on multiple platforms, or, if one of my friends come through for me, posting it for me or sending it to their phone numbers for me, but I haven't asked yet, I wouldn't ask until right before the attempt.
