Music has a rather sacred reverence across human cultures going back to the drums in ancient Africa mimicking the beating of the human heart. ๐Ÿช˜ ๐Ÿฅ

I really go based on how it makes me feel the most as well as the quality of it.

I've had a hobby for around 2 years of finding extremely obscure & new music. The site I used/use allows for little highlight snippets of the songs to be played. When I first started finding new music, I'd listen to a decent amount of it to see if I liked it. But the more I accumulated music, the more I noticed I never had to listen to my favorite songs for long before knowing I'd love them. All I usually need is 5-10 seconds max especially when skimming through a song to know if I'll love the song. It's just enough time for me my brain to either find emotional meaning in it or not. Never foolproof but it's extremely accurate.

Some songs I wouldn't normally care for but the emotions they make me feel cause me to look past it.

This song is a good example:

I don't really love or care for the mixing or mastering of this song. The vocals sound harsh, not great imaging, cheap sounding instrument samples, etc. But it has a good structure, great vocal samples despite quality, & gives me an emotional feel that few other songs do so I like despite its quality flaws.

Don't get me wrong, if I could, I'd change the quality to match that of this song:

But I still like it nonetheless
