See title. The rope is minimally strechable.
Would be glad for quick answers. Thank you 🙏.

Check for it's strength to hold your weight and check if it pinches and is uncomfortable. Then you are good to go ;)

Possible yes, comfortable and ideal- no. Look for 10-14mm for the latter.
Are you doing full or partial?
Hm ok. I wanna do full hanging.

Sounds good ;)

You have to make sure and be absolutely certain (especially for full suspension). You don't want it to break after the brain cells start dying and before you fully die.

Let's hope it won't come down to that. The stories here about ignoring DNR wishes are shocking

Ok. Got it. Tommorow I ll go to Do it yourself and buy a 12mm rope plus solid anchor, for climbers or so. Question is how to but it on without tools

Full suspension doesnt have to be jumping or so.
Wanted to do it tonight. Sucks. Can only blame myself.

I have a ceiling of gypsum. It wont work to but a hook thats strong enough.
Might still use the one on my balcony.

I m no craftman obviously so thats a bit tricky.

How did you guys solve this ?

In my opinion It's better to find an already existing sturdy enough anchor point than building one (it's easier and safer). But doorway pull up bars might work

No not that. They are called doorway pull-up bars. They are intended for sports. I have never experienced them so I don't know which one is best. But there are several types.

Ah now i know what you mean. I ve heard of it, too. But if that is safe and doesnt come down? I have this curtain rail on the balcony. Wanted to do it there. It s not super stable but i tried to hang on there with my hands and it held
Gonna do some research on the pull-up bar
I got blocked from the chat today. Some ppl here are pretty not normal and make you wanna suicide even more. So awesome :meh:

7.5 mm will work but it will not be very comfortable. Look for something double that diameter.
Make sure your knot slides so it tightens easily once you step off. That is the key to passing out quickly.
Yes, grab your anchor point and see if it holds your weight.
I hope all goes well.

Thanks, thats a new information. But yes, my knot will tighten easily.
Why would you be blocked from the chat? Are you saying you're not allowed to use that feature? Tbh I forget it's even there.
Bc some "moderator" blocked me, like in school, you know, I was "mean" and got punished 😅.

Also there was this 19 year old girl who announced in the chat that shes gonna ctb. I said dont, there might be ways, your young. I wanted to be there for her.
About three users consequently told me I shouldnt do that and let her kill herself basically... I mean, thats sick. And this so called "moderator" didnt say a word, he was there chatting.

Long story short, you dont miss anything if you dont go to the chat.

Im not even sure why we need that chat service on here anyways 🤷
Well it can be nice to communicate in real time but here it is definitly not nice bc either you re part of the squad or you will be ignored more or less.

And the ones who are part complain all day long how bad they re feeling and how suicidal they are.... 🙄. And then the others go like "oh hun I know, thats terrible". And thats mostly it. It happens rarely that there are some good, reflected conversations. A pity.

If you have a gypsum ceiling, you have to find a wooden stud(a 2x4 that the drywall is attached to) and secure the anchor in that wooden stud, preferably by drilling a hole into the stud and screwing the anchor into that hole.
This goes for securing any load over 5 lbs, the drywall will not hold shit.

@BrainShower thank you, yes gypsum ceiling is really not working. There is this solid wooden beam on the balcony but if I drill there for sure the Landlady will come up and ask what I m doing. Well see.

Also note that openings such as doorways and windows will have a horizontal beam (called a header for wood structures) to support load away from the opening. Since it's structural, it should be more than strong enough assuming the anchor is strong enough.

Yeah, she's 80 and always at home, 24/7 🙄.

I havent been prepairing much. I startet to feel better again and pushed my plan aside. Thats a huge mistake. How many more times do I want to end up feeling devastated and suicidal?
I cant do it anymore.

Got a rope of 12mm now. What do you think, is the classical hanging knot good? I m sure it is written somewhere already but I cant find it. I go for full suspenson. Thank you

Not sure if a pull-up bar is good. I d like to hang more freely so there's no chance I can grab anything. I m anxious SI could kick in, don't know if that is possible. Don't want to risk it.
Was thinking of buying a special hook for a hammock. I have a wooden beam on the balcony under the roof and could hopefully fix it there.
