Does the container has to be full of SN or can it be half filled?

Generally, the best way to keep moisture out is to leave the manufactures seal intact, but that might be difficult if you intend to do a purity test.

Do not open it until you use it ! Under the influence of oxygen nitrit converts into nitrat ! On my bottle it says 4 years, but according the PPH 2021 it lasts much longer.

When we're about to use it or to do the purity test, how long can the SN be in contact with oxygen? Like however much it takes to do the test and prepare the mixture?

it also says 4 years on the label, but of course I didn't open it, because I won't use it now

I wonder if storing it in an empty paint can and packing it with sand and resealing it would help keep air out. I would think it would.

Anyone have an opinion on that?? I might just move mine.

I wouldn't do that. I would leave it in the original bottle.

cool dark dry place. I screwed up and might have let it be out in the light but in the bottle i never opened the bottle . but i don't know if the light ruins it (does any one know? ) . hoping it comes back on sale again but might not so i can buy another and then i'll store the bottle in a zip lock bag then another dark container and in a cool place. don't know about how to keep it dry as i live in humid place. I guess keep it as far away from the bathroom as that is the most humid place.
