It wasn't that bad a few months ago, but after a stressful period in December I started smoking a lot and it turned into a real addiction then. I'm smoking a lot now and it makes me feel really guilty. I'm looking forward to smoking one always, in the morning, after eating, before bed, before going to bed. How do I stop the cycle? I've bought nicotine chewing gum but I'm not sure if it actually does anything.

I was a 2 pack of smoker , Marlboro red was my brand, love driving smoking, my car smelled like an ashtray and my clothes also. I've stopped 8 years ago or so with an electronic cigarette, had trued that patch, the gum even the expensive pills that are supposed to make you quit in 4 days. Nothing worked, so got myself a vaping kit, as Marlboro red had lots of nicotine I started at 12mg nicotine, and does really work, I drink a lot of coffee so with cinnamon would go hand in hand. Then just experienced others flavours and now I vape menthol. Try the lady like pen first, don't buy the big mod yet until you see it's working for you. Rule number one from a heavy smoker, tge day i started to vape I never trued a ciggie again. I don't smell like old smoke smell, my house smells nice and so as my car and even my cat thanks me. Now I'm only in 6mg nicotine. And some work colleagues saw me and decided to do the same some like others no, but a few did like it . Give it a try.

Please give it a go, I could even go to nightclubs back then when i wasn't sick and I would vape inside while every smoker was freezing their butts!Glad to help, and so keep me posted If you do it

You might try putting a little spit into the filter. This swells the fibers and traps a lot of the tar and other materials in the smoke. The result is that you reduce the amount of materials in your lungs. Essentially it allows you to quit from a lower dose so that it isn't such a big step for your body.

It does leave an ashtray smelling pretty bad. However, at least it is in the ashtray and not your lungs.

Its all about will power. Gave up cigarettes for the longest time but never could stop smoking marijuana. Now that im 1 month clean of marijuana the urge to smoke cigarettes (only when i drink) has came back to me.
Its all about will. I think you can do it. Were all strong people here.

Didn't even think about that, though I already smoked the last one :|

I just bought nicotine free cigarettes because I think for me smoking is more of a habit and I like the 'motions' more than the nicotine. It sounds like you like the nicotine, but maybe nicotine free cigarettes could work for you too? Then you could still go out for a smoke, but not have the physical addictive properties

First time I'm hearing about nicotine-free cigs. Do they have all that other shit in there? The reason I'm trying to quit is I'm concerned about my health, so I'm going to go with a vape for now.

I've stopped smoking for 4 years, then 2 years, then 1. Always a vape helped me get rid of the cigarettes then I got rid of the vape.

It was cold turkey, however I smoked again all November a December and get a new vape on January.

I've been vaping, just a little actually, well sometimes more than others

Replace it with a healthier habit, like smocking crack! No but seriously, finding some less destructive habit to channel such urges to can help. I loathe to be a hypocrite but intense exercise is worth a shot.

go to whyquit (dot) com

it takes 3 days for your body to clear itself of nicotine and its metabolites

vitamin c has an antagonistic effect on nicotine - that is, vitamin c increases the metabolism and excretion of nicotine. vitamin c chewable tablets come in 500mg versions. you can eat a few (they will mess with your stomach if you eat too many) before going to sleep and see how the morning feels.

nicotine addiction is about associations. you'll need to recognize which times and places trigger a craving. don't use nicotine during that event and you break the association from that event. you can break one association and then move onto another and so on until there are no associations.

having the last nicotine before going to sleep (you may need to utterly destroy the nicotine items) can make it easier to not use nicotine when you wake up.

the first resist/denial of nicotine is the most difficult. it gets easier from thers

Bought green tobacco or something like that. Not that good honestly, I need to try something else next. But I've still enjoyed it, and haven't really thought about smoking.

The only way I could give up was by doing excercise. Whenever I had nicotine craving I would do pushups etc. This helped me a lot with the craving. Best of luck giving up, I know how hard it is.

Thanks! I'm bad at finding motivation to exercise but that's certainly worth a try.
