I often find I reply to somebody and then want to post a comment myself to OP, but since the last post is mine, they both get merged every time and I have to wait until I somebody else replies before I can post my second comment. I can easily forget what it is I had to say even if it's an active topic.

Besides, simply doing both in one comment doesn't help lazy readers who just want to read the first paragraph and be done with it, or between the line readers. I know firsthand.

Is there any way to separate consecutive replies?

If enough time has passed, two consecutive replies by the same user will not be merged, they will apear as separate posts.

Now don't ask me what "enough time means", because I am afraid I don't know. I've just seen it happen.

I wish I knew as well. I would like to keep some of my posts separate.

I think it might be an hour or some hours or even a day, but don't quote me. I just remember that I one day noticed that I could post another post even though my old post was still the newest one.

It's a feature, not a bug.

Yeah I've noticed after a period of time they're separate.

I didn't realise you can reply straight away again as a new post if someone else posts after yours.
