This is even more telling. It's a damning meta analysis that doesn't surprise me in the least but saddens me that there have been so many lives lost.
Prescription drug side effects are why I'm here, I had an antibiotic resistant infection and the only drug they could use had suicide ideation as a side effect. Until the drugs wore off once I'd finished taking them I ended up going down rabbit holes on the internet and seeing stuff that still gives me flashbacks, on top of that I'd read all the books on the reading list and inspected my house, worked out the best place to die and had imagined how it would happen. That was from a one week course of antibiotics with the side effect kicking in around day 3.This is even more telling.
Left Hanging: Suicide in Bridgend – Dr. David Healy
Many people are unaware of just how many prescription drugs can trigger and cause suicide, suicidal acts and homicide.davidhealy.org
Class-action lawsuit comes to mind...pharmaceutical companies and the 'opiod crisis'...anti-depressants and suicide.Fuck me, that's a massive correlation. And in my experience at least, it's damningly accurate. I've had one psych admission, four ED visits related to suicide attempts or suicidality. And now I have just given up on the whole charade. 'Help' is just containment or medications that don't work in the vast majority of cases. There's some meta analyses that rip antidepressants to shreds (about an 11 - 13% efficacy rating after a year of treatment). Right now I am putting myself in a self-made version of mental health palliative care. Just using drugs to make myself comfortable until I CtB.
