Hopeful but afraid

I hope with all of my heart that I will at least get a text message tomorrow (Christmas) from that one person. I dare not wish for a phone call.

I am afraid that if I hear nothing, that will be the last and final straw. I don't think I can take another disappointment. Hanging on by a thread.
