Hi I'm trying to use the partial hanging method. I've watched the videos available on the internet on how to do it.

I'm using just a normal rope, except I have a doubled up blanket between the rope and my neck so it doesn't hurt too much.

Alot of info on here says that people tend to pass out in like 10 seconds of cutting off circulation, but I've cut off blood flow for like 30 seconds before my instincts kick in (and the vertebrae in my neck start to hurt) and I have to stand up and start over.

I know that the answer is "just choke yourself for longer" but any tips would be nice. Its also nice to find a group of people that have the same values and are in a similar mindset as me.

More pressure or maybe test moving the rope to different places on your neck.

Glad it works for you and I could be of help. If you decide to try it again but it still takes so long, try moving the rope slightly up or down your neck maybe?

Rope didn't work for me at all. I can only get close to passing out with a belt. Soemthing like like a joga belt. The buckle instead of a slipknot makes it so much easier. I have it just under my left ear, having it at the back is more painful. And remember to put all your weight down at once, not gradually.

Knot is supposed to go on back of neck, under left ear from everything I've read... It's not tight enough if you're suspended and still conscious after 30 seconds. It's so easy to psyche yourself out of this method in my opinion, that 10 seconds seems like at least 30.

@therhydler

What kind of rope did you use? Natural fiber or synthetic? Did you try placing the knot on the side? From what you said, I get the impression the problem was too much friction. Synthetic fiber rope might be better.

I'm using polypropylene rope. A noose didn't work for me with partial but now I have a slipknot tied. I tightened it with my hands and my hearing got dulled and I heard a thumping sound, so Ig it'd work

This doesn't seem to do anything for me whatsoever (re. losing consciousness/restricting bloodflow), has it for you? What sort of knot do you use?

It allows me to breathe, but I keep stopping myself because my head and face start to hurt too much. I used a slipknot.

So it's tight in the front as well if it's a slipknot? Sounds like you are only compressing the outer carotid (blood to the face/scalp) and not the inner ones, so I wonder if this position doesn't give you enough leverage against the inner carotids ?

I have the same experience. Complete hanging is maybe the one way. Dying will be uncomfortable always. And if you can interrupted it, the survival instinct will win. Maybe to do it quickly is the best way. A lot of unnecessary attempts is unnecessary torture only.

Sorry what's the idea of the knot. Are there any general instructions on here. Thanks

Wow, that video looks awesome (watched without sound since there are others around). I hope it's as easy as it looks! Thanks!
