Can someone help me. I went to tijuana to get N & they only had this brand (t61) The vet said it's the same thing as the other brands. but I'm not sure. I show him the last picture (aranda) brand. They said they don't sell it anymore that it has been discontinued. Can someone that has N confirm me if they have the same ingredients as shown in the bottle. please or anyone that knows I'll appreciate it thank you 🙏

Yes, Interloper beat me to it. Sorry OP, T61 isn't N. Same application (probably what the salesperson meant), but completely different formula and active ingredient. Bummer. I know that's massively disappointing.

...Although, are we ignoring the obvious? Seeing as this is a euthanasia solution, would this provide a comparable experience and effect to N? I won't try and answer that because I'm not well versed on this triad of ingredients. But again OP, unfortunately this isn't N (pentobarbital)

This isn't some new version of euthanasia drug, re-formulated to be safer to humans because of all the controversy surrounding vet N and human suicides, is it?

Many vets had to turn to alternatives following a global shortage from 2021 (incident at one of the world's two major manufacturing facilities). Whether this T61 is a recent development in response to that or goes back a long time I have no idea, but I don't think it's because of ctb

well that sucks. hope you didn't have to travel too far. i think tijuana is too close to the border. i'd try a remote town where they have horse ranches and stuff if you can. t61 seems to have been around in the eu and canada.

Just found this on the Net:

Embutramide, a Component of Tanax(®) (T-61) as a New Drug of Abuse?

Abstract

Tanax(®) (T-61) is a euthanasia solution commonly used in veterinary medicine in Europe. It consists of three active components: embutramide, mebezonium iodide, and tetracaine hydrochloride. Human consumption of Tanax(®) (T-61) is usually associated with suicide attempts. In our 15-year-long practice, embutramide was detected only three times but within a short period. First, it was found in the urine of a 42-year-old veterinarian, and the other two observations were made in a 16-year-old young man. Urine samples were analyzed using Shimadzu Prominence TOX.I.S.II. HPLC-DAD system with online SPE extraction system. Both of the two patients denied any intention to die. These cases show that this veterinary drug may also be considered as potential drugs of abuse.

Source: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27404634/#:~:text=Tanax (®) (T-61) is a euthanasia solution commonly,(®) (T-61) is usually associated with suicide attempts.

Hard to tell if these were suicide attempts, or merely just abuse. Regardless, neither subject died.

Edit: Here's a story of successful suicide using T61 I just found.

Saw an abstract for a comparison study between N and T61 euthanasia a little while ago that concludes similar results, but obv that doesn't say anything definitive on ctb. You would *think* it's much the same but if T61 for whatever reason causes humans to melt like the Nazis in Raiders I don't wanna be that guy

T61 is not N. It´s a totally different formula. But it´s used for the same purpose: euthanize animals.

Embutramide passes through the blood-brain barrier and causes prolonged and deep hypnosis and has a very strong depressant effect on the respiratory center in the brainstem.

Mebezonium, a muscle relaxant contained in the combination preparation, causes permanent depolarization at the motor end plate. Tetracaine is a local anesthetic and prevents a local pain response. This combination causes immediate loss of consciousness, respiratory and cardiac arrest.

product data sheet:

This is just a general information. I do not make any recommendation to use this product. You act on your own responsibility.

Isn't it nice to know that we have the real thing? I am comforted.

Still, everyone deserves peace of mind in method. If the active ingredients of T61 provide a similar experience it could be a great untapped alternative. Knowledge on the N experience was fast tracked by adoption in AS protocol, and that's lacking here

T61 is prepared for IV administration. Oral bioavailability of barbiturates is high. This makes pentobarbital drinkable. You need to know the oral bioavailability of the drugs in T61 content. Still there is a problem. Will you be paralyzed first or deep sedation? If you're paralyzed before deep sedation, you're suffocating alive.

Absolutely, why I wouldn't ever just blindly recommend something like this. But just on the logic it's formulated for euthanasia you would presume it spares animals that result with sedation first, as it's the whole idea. There's the question of whether this hasn't been explored by any orgs with good reason, or if N just sort of took the spotlight by history and visibility and this is viable

So you would have to combine T61 with another drug (or method) that leads to faster unconsciousness.

The question is, what makes unconscious quickly ? A spontaneous answer would be to combine T61 with CO or inert gas, because with both methods only a few breaths are enough to become unconscious. Another idea would be an additional fast-acting narcotic.

This is not a recommendation ! Will do more research.

But is there any reliable source where anyone can order ?

Would it be good in combination with N? I have two bottles of N. Problem is I found a partner who wants to ctb with me but as she said, they probably out of stock now. Do I risk taking one bottle per person? Or one bottle + t61 per person?

I wouldn´t combine both and/or share one bottle of N. Do you have a source for T61 ?

I am in TJ so I can go buy it if I wanted to. That's tough, now I am not sure what my options are. I know the old PPeH they suggested one bottle per person. Guess its not worth the risk.

It depends on how much N is in the bottle. Better use both bottles for yourself, if you don´t want to fail.

Oh I just remembered. The same vet offered me t61 few months back but she also bundled it with this. Zoletil 50. I did not exactly understand her explaination but I think she says Zoletil is anesthesia and the other one kills. Anyone know about this? Would this combination work for us?
