I'm no expert I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure it's atrociously painful.

Yes it hurts a lot. Plus the unbearable hyperapnic panic of not breathing.

Could you recommend a painless method to me?

Could you recommend a method which is sure fire?

Could you recommend a method which is sure fire?
Or any way I can reduce the pain of drowning like getting drunk or something.

It's not that simple. There are many resources on this board and you have to make your own judgements. It's a serious thing and their are no easy options. That's just the way it is i'm afraid. If it was easier, then these forums wouldn't exist.

I was looking for a nitrogen gas tank and a gas mask and some valves. Will they do the trick?Ive heard incidents of people who tried to end it with helium but didn't succeed. Also I'm scared of brain damage and don't want to end up as a vegetable.

Please don't try to drown. It would be awful for you, don't suffer. Please review the resources so you can make an informed decision.

Please don't try that most people to try it fail miserably. If you act impulsively you will most likely hurt yourself and survive with worse problems. If you are determined then you would benefit from taking your time and doing research. And of course thinking if this really is the option that's right for you. This is a serious decision and not something that should be rushed into.

Is it urgent ? You should take the time to do some research and be sure about what you're doing. I don't know you but drowning is particularly painful and your survival instinct will probably stop you.

Thank you I've decided that this is the option for me.Also I admit I have to do more research.

I admit I want to die soon but can't get access to materials I need.

Rather than buying online it's better you go for direct shop and take.... because in India most of the websites sell unpure nitrogen...and also it will be a big cylinder..and also the rent will be fucking high for it
..it's a long, complicated and costly process
And the rest you can research in the search bar...all the best buddy...

I've nearly drown twice in my lifetime. Would definitely not recommend it. It's a horrible way to go.

Does drowning hurt?

Are you for real? I tried drowning myself in the bathtub, when I was about 13 years old. I was absolutely uninformed and didn't have any expirience or resources at all. It was (besides trying to commit suicide by simply pulling a plastic bag over my head), the most ridiculous attempt I've ever made. At least try something like partial hanging, or something that is more reliable. You will see that partial hanging is very difficult to do too, but also substantially easier than drowning yourself.

Drowned once. Can't remember, was too young (3) and may have had a trauma blackout, not sure. It was quick though, less than a minute and I was unconscious. But the problem is that it's near impossible to get oneself to take in the water properly. In all likelihood one will indeed fight it, and that is the agony, and not so much drowing itself I'd speculate.

This reminded me of something I did as a child. It's actually quite easy to drown; I almost managed it without trying. :-)

I'd heard that if you stop breathing for more than 4 minutes, you die. My mum had told me that a second was the length of time it took to say "one". So I took a deep breath in the bath once, and tried to see how long I could hold my breath for, and put my mouth and nose under the water to help me resist any temptation to let my breath out. I counted in my head, "1,1,1..." over and over again, and when I'd counted 1 240 times, I thought I'd been holding my breath for 4 minutes, and decided I'd better let my breath out because if I held it for 1 second longer I'd be in danger of dying.
