so I got a helium tank, and was planning to use a tube from an oxygen mask, but I've got 2 problems now that iv got both of them and tried to put them together.
So it's a balloon tank (98% pure tho), and it came with a piece on it for filling balloons which the tube fits perfectly over, but it seems like it doesn't let any helium out at all when I tested it (both with and without the tube). When I take it off it doesn't fit over it and the helium comes out way too hard and it's too loud for me to use even if I can find a way to put the tube on it in a way it wouldn't fall off bc I live in uni accommodation and my flatmates would hear it.
Anyone got any advice for me? Iv included pictures of my issue.

I worked it out, the balloon piece has a safety mechanism that means u need to bend it to let the helium out. so i used a LOT of duct tape and will probably patch it up even more, but it works now

If it still has really high helium content, then it should work. I've researched it, helium content being reduced was only certain companies who brought it down to about 70%- which wouldn't work to ctb. I've got >98% pure helium, which should do the job. Do you know what % you've got?

When I went to purchase I didn't ask about the purity in case of being flagged. I just called to ask and did not go well. It's balloon grade helium from a national supplier. Not sure if I'm allowed to say from where.

Try inhaling 4 deep breaths, I tried that from pure helium and I completely lost my vision momentarily.

you have to screw that filling device (that needs to be bended) off, and put the tube (diameter 9 mm) straight on the outlet.

I tried the same method a while ago and I had similar problems. the main issue for me was the sound It was so loud and I was worried someone would hear outside of my room which is why I didn't go through with it.

I strongly suggest that anyone interested in this method look at the Exit Bag & Inert Gas mega-thread in the List of Resources section of this site.

Like many of the original mega-threads, it's become somewhat bloated & redundant due to so many of the later posters asking the same questions over and over, plus the wealth of misinformation and anecdotal evidence (the original SN thread--much improved by Stan--is a good example of this.)

However, the OP--TiredHorse--did a great job of step-by-step describing pretty much all you need to know. Read a few more pages on, all your questions should be answered.

Also in the List of Resources section is a link to the relevant-to-this-subject section of the Peaceful Pill Handbook, another invaluable read.

PS: 97-98% pure helium is fine.

Can't find the answer though. Got the PPH, ed nov 2019. Just want to get the flow control fitting for disposable He tanks that's in the book. But Exit doesn't sell it anymore. I want to measure the pressure in the tanks because I have them for 2 years now and maybe most of the gas leaked out.
In the megathread is mostly talked about Ar and N2, and industrial He cylinders.
I just want to find a valve that fits on the disposable balloon time tanks. I'm in Europe
