ordered a helium tank off amazon, and an oxygen mask that I will rig to the tank. Has anyone tried this? Do you think this will be Lethal, hoping to get some insight so this plan doesn't fail.

A helium tank off of Amazon might not be pure - could still have some oxygen content. very likely that's the case because of various laws IIRC

The tank I purchased was filled in Germany and was said to be 99% pure, but I guess I have no way of actually knowing

You need to actually test it with an oxygen meter yourself.

I tested my nitrogen cylinder and the oxygen level eventually settled around 0.3%.

You have to buy an adapter for the helium tank as well, and it must fit the country of origin of the helium tank. Also remember that the tanks from amazon may have some oxygen content.

And like @ClownWorld2023 said, test the oxygen concentration with an oxygen meter. Have a dummy head and put the oxygen meter inside of the headpiece with it and measure it. I think the oxygen levels must be under 1% or something but I'm unsure of that so don't take it from me, do some research.

If you're in the uk I have a couple of sources that claimed their helium was pure/99%, you can pm me if you like for those. (//edit: Nevermind I missed your second post saying that you got yours filled in Germany)
like the other members said I wouldn't try to use it without testing for oxygen. Also, my understanding is that a mask is not viable, as it's hard to get a good enough seal. You need to construct an ExitBag.
