• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I've noticed that I don't enjoy listening to music anymore. I used to love all kinds of music but their meaning is void, now. I am not depressed. The reason I want to ctb is chronic pain for many years and some tragic debilitating results after many negligent surgeries.

Anyway….i wonder if I'm the only one who noticed this? I only listen to podcasts or meditation music. It may be linked to the pain and the fact I can't dance like I used to….

Can anyone relate?

I can relate. I used to love music, but I listen to it less and less, I don't get as much enjoyment from it as I did in the past, it almost feels like a chore.

I've been losing the vibe of enjoying music, I feel out of place in everything, even watching movies has been a bit difficult

Oh I can relate. Trying to connect with this new version of yourself takes time sometimes. Maybe you will find something else…..something niche….to watch….completely different to what you've had interest in before. I watch cave diving expeditions gone wrong. I never would have watched that years ago. And I would never scuba dive but it has my attention more than other things I used to like (that I've since lost interest in). I hope you can find something, too. Xo

I'm very depressed but still enjoy music as means to cope. But when I was in not low physical pain I couldn't do anything, couldn't bring myself to do anything so I understand...

When I hit rock bottom and I became actively suicidal and very depressed I stopped listening to music, watching Youtube and all that for many months.

I'm almost completely emotionally detached so I can't get anything out of music. I used to enjoy all kinds.

Yes I started substituting my constant music for podcasts. It's like music evokes meaning that only reveals how meaningless my life has become. Listening to music hurts. I am a singer too. It's like losing an appendage in a way.

I think music really can express meaning in a similar way that words do. Sometimes we don't want to feel that meaning always, sometimes listening to a mood of music that dissonates with us just makes us more uncomfortable than we already were in that moment.

What are some of your favorite podcasts that you like to listen to? Was wondering if you recommend any of them. Thanks!

There was a time when I was hyper-focused on communist channels, I found the reflections interesting, but I no longer feel attracted to politics, I also started to become obsessed with true crime cases, but there came a time when I started to get paranoid like going out for a walk and out of nowhere being brutally murdered by a serial killer 😂

I miss when I was young, I was excited about such simple things

There is a phrase from the movie The Breakfast Club that says "when we grow up, our heart dies", this phrase perfectly describes my current moment, I feel like a dead person that time forgot to bury

Oh.. that's a powerful metaphor. ❤️

I pretty much only listen to music in the shower, everything else is just YouTube or podcasts in the background. I barely watch any actual shows unless it's some noise to try falling asleep to

I can't live without music on my ears everytime i walk or get out of my home since hearing other neighboors or peoples sayings around kinda reflects the abusive system and self inflict scenario that absorbs me into a neglect state of pain and anguish.

I don't listen music anymore for more than a year now. I used to enjoy it. But I think it's because of a depression, but I'm not sure. I don't enjoy anything anymore. Sick and tired of life, I have severe anhedonia.

I've started listening to music more recently, it is always playing in the background. But the lyrics are mostly depressing, because that is what I relate to. I can't stand happy, energetic songs.

Yip I can relate. I can't listen to music with words anymore, especially something to do with love, because I take everything personally. It's like the words yell at me pointing out where things are wrong or what a stupid person I am. It makes me angry when I read real life into the words in my current mess of a life. So, I'm trying songs in languages I don't understand at this stage.

Anything by "Tool" (band), "Jambi" is on maximum rotation right now.
Music is all listen to these days, to keep my focus from pain.
"Skillet","Lzzy Hale","Amy Lee","Plumb","Chris Cornell","Brantley Gilbert","DMX","Dorothy","Five Finger Death Punch","Highly Suspect", is all in there to kill the pain.....

Nickelback will get the Karate Monkey upset though.

I stopped listening to all music and pretty much put to rest any remaining hobbies. I don't leave the house except once or twice a month max now. I play off and on a game or two or let YouTube play, and eat and drink, that's it. The mindset here is I'm pretty committed to heading out and I don't want to deal with anything that could cause hesitancy - all the hobbies can be taken back up again post-mortem if available, or I can make new ones. So I'm more looking forward to getting started with new projects and activities rather continuing old ones. I also just don't have the energy or motivation to do the things I used to do, so I just get by until I'm ready.

Just another week or two and I'm set. :)

Some good bands in there. Is your pain physical or spiritual/emotional? Nickelback is wild hahah

Do you know Powderfinger? As I'm Australian, perhaps that's why I used to like them.
