Your "intelligent" opinion was exactly what I needed to realize my "condition" was curable.

Thank you! The world needs more people like you.

I just had my daily laugh from watching people's reactions to Puddle of Mudd's horrendous cover of About a Girl. I'm still depressed though. That cover probably woke Kurt Cobain up from the dead, and then he promptly committed suicide again.

I've never thought about it like that before. I never thought to try to cure my condition. I never thought to actually reach out for help. Oh wait. That's what got me in the mess I'm in right now.

One of these things does not belong. Can you guess which?
Clue: it's the one that actually helps the most.

Recommending sarcasm to an autistic person is somewhat ironic don't you think? Or would one do that sarcastically?

Sarcasm! It has saved me from banging my head against the wall on many a dark nights. I find laughing at myself and life in general cathartic.

I don't know where you find these silly quotes in the vastness of the internet, but I think you have straied a bit too far from home and got lost, my friend.

@Underscore has been known to make SS users drool over his sexy gifs and avatars. He is actually banned on Tinder because once he posted a potato gif that got a millions likes within a minute and caused the app the crash.

Is sarcasm a problem for the autistic? I didn't realise. I guess it could be, I can see that. No offence intended there or irony implied. :shy:
I've been provisionally assessed as being autistic and I'm sarcastic af.

Oh okay. No I'm not autistic, at least not diagnosed as such. I always thought autistic people have problems understanding subtext, irony and such.

Discussions in the comment sections of Reddit and YouTube mostly. I mean unless I start making YouTube videos or write a book on this issue, or become politically active and go to suicide prevention rallies to argue with grieving loved ones, it is the best I can do.

Panic autistic spectrum version : "Don't disconnect the plug, nor look at me straight in the eyes. Your circuits are smoking hot."
(not mocking, but a tribute. Some diseases just happen to spread universally : idiocy, love... not fooled)

Who in their right minds would give someone, as a gift, something that causes years and years of suffering?! :-(

Life can not be a gift, because by definition a gift can be refused. Rather it is an imposition some people are retrospectively thankful for.
.
It's like being raped and afterwards concluding that it was fun and you're glad it happened.

I believe parents are principally gifting themselves to make their life more enjoyable and less miserable to keep going, since the family bonds can be intensely marvelous (potentially) during a brief moment of the existence, and children raised as an instinctive security for the future. It often begins as a selfish gesture, and can reverse as a poisoned gift for the descendent concerned. It's just repeating the same mistake over and over without insight. You can tell the intent starts often wrongly motivated when the children are talked as properties (I want "my" child) or brought up as an echo of the parents to boost the ego.
I'm personally against natality in general. But very much in favor of adoption as a repair act. Also wished parenthood was not exclusive but shared within the collectivity, to eradicate unlucky hurt upbringings and dilute fate. I dream of Jedi academies ;)
