Discussion has this forum become too "inefficient"?

I have the feeling that this forum has become Tumblr 2.0.
1 year ago, most threads were actually about methods to ctb. Now, most discussions are very off topic. I have a suggestion: We should have a "method" subforum, a "venting" subforum, a "suicide discussion" and an "off topic" sub forum.

What do you guys think about it?

Saying it has become "inefficient" implies that this forum has some narrow specified aim which isn't being met.
I think it's best to let threads and posts develop organically without too much formatting or pre-arranged molds.
If there aren't that many threads about methods to ctb anymore, it's probably because there isn't that much of a need for them.
Just my opinion.

i don't think so.

i both helps me when it comes to ctb methods and support. I'm not sure it's possible to draw a fine line between venting and suicide discussion, to me at least, both things are different sides of the same coin.

Not very related but I don't have where to post: ever since the vice / fixthe / twitter / BPG drama I feel like I cannot post anywhere. Bc if I'm attacked I know I won't hold my tongue and I might get myself and my partner doxxed. I don't care about me but I care about my family and partner after I'm gone. Now I feel completely silenced and all I do is hide and cry because I'm thinking my last weeks will be spent in misery.

the only thing which i thought might be worth to separate are casual stuff like games and stuff where people share their interests in one area and the more "philosophical" offtopic threads in another area. but maybe its a bit fluid where one begins and the other ends.

one other thing which would maybe helpful to exclude from the user posting history the game stuff cause it often fills up this history and its makes it more difficult to discover stuff a member has written without too much clicking.

but in general i also think its ok to let it develop organically.

There's already a ton of information here on methods so why would someone make new threads for everything?

I think its nice to able to talk to people, even if its about random things, and not feel like you constantly have to hide something.

If there weren't knuckleheads trying to shut the place down I might support this, but, eh, as things stand a methods subforum seems like some really bad optics. It could easily be interpreted as being "pro-suicide" rather than "pro-choice."

As an aside, I'm actually not concerned about government action against this place, at least in the near term, but I can easily see hosts refusing to allow the site and quite possibly Cloudflare dropping support.

I think if anything you could critique the culture here but it functions fine for its purpose in my opinion.
I know I am mostly a shitposter and there are reasons against having a toxic miserable atmosphere but just my opinion.

I feel like too many people take this site as "how to kill yourself.com". No it isn't.
It's a space where everyone can vent, discuss about methods, deaths, games, horses and whatever comes to your mind.
It's supposed to be a safe space: would you feel safe in a space where people only talk about how to tie a knot?
I wouldn't personally.
This site has helped me more than anything else, and I hope it doesn't change.
