I know there have been some threads (I did use the search function), but since we seem to be (supposedly) seeing a rise in cases again, has this and the likely lockdowns influenced how you feel and whether you want to ctb?

I wasn't so bothered at first but the more it goes on the more miserable I'm feeling, it seems to just be doom and gloom every single day.

I can't even look at the news any more. There seems to be no end in sight.

Yes, I hate the restrictions in place, I hate how the world is changing and we are entering a new era of living. I want things to go back to how they used to be, no lockdowns, no restrictions, no virus, but I can't see it happening any time soon if at all. At first I didn't mind much and didn't think much of it, but as time has gone on it's gotten harder and harder to live with.

Yes it's made things worse for me. I hate this creepy dystopian world we are in. Everything is worse now...and all the panic and grocery stores being out of everything. I'm also a severe germ phobic person and now I am so paranoid all the time. I didn't go out much before all this mess but it was nice to have the choice to do so!

I now do university from home.

Pro: I don't have to suffer in a classroom full of people and two hour-long commutes every day.
Con: I've realised that I completely lack the self-discipline for online study.

Other than that, COVID hasn't really impacted me very hard. No one I know personally has been affected either.

The only reason I care is out of a selfish concern for certain economic trends. I live in an economically depressed area (more so than most) so I want economic recovery. The fact that my area is just being punished and sacrificed for a megalomaniacal 'reset' is both irritating and depressing. Aside from that I don't really care. I don't think there are good reasons to trust the official reports, including anything coming from a politically empowered scientific committee, so I am skeptical about the whole covid thing anyway. But the fact that everyone is forced to stay in doesn't bother me...if anything I like it since it makes my empty life seem less wasted in comparison to the healthy normals. The rise of a fascistic police state coming through the use of medical doctors and health services as soft police however is something that does bother me.

Yes, isolation and quarantine sucks. Kids were home for 7 months and we all lost a ton of weight and muscle mass from sitting on our butts so long. They went back to school a week ago, and 2 kids on campus have tested positive.

we are all sick now for last two days. Son went to ED to get covid tested. We all got sore throat 2 days ago. Now today low fevers, body aches, headaches, low energy, runny nose, throat based cough. Masks did morning to prevent us from getting sick. Guess I'll find out soon if it's Covid or a messed up cold.

I cant watch the news on TV. I do read online occasionally stuff with covid. Its very depressing and I do hope things improve (i.e a vaccine is found), but I'm so damn cynical I'm feeling like its the end of the world. Its definitely contributed to me wanting to CTB.

It has indirectly I guess. I was actually on track to have a good year this year; I was going back to uni, doing well at therapy, was starting to build a small circle of friends and was looking forward to maybe making more at uni, I was just going out in the world and doing things instead of sitting in my room depressed and lonely.

Then........ COVID. Uni moved online, therapy moved to zoom, friends vanished, couldn't leave the house.

Everything just fell apart.

At the beginning, it didn't seem like it would affect things much for me. I didn't see friends too much, I was even happy about the fact that I didn't have to work anymore, or go to university. I got automatically passed at uni, and I could chill out for a bit.

Then it got worse. Other things happened in my life that sent me spiralling, I started to become more and more lonely and started going crazy being cooped up in my apartment. I still coped a bit, but restrictions keep fluctuating, and now that I'm basically unable to actually see anyone at all at my worst point in life other than my colleagues at my part time job, it is definitely affecting me a lot. I would have at least a little solace in company for a few hours. COVID has amplified my loneliness, and it's fucking painful.

This pandemic has been extremely convenient for me, as if it were a blessing of a god who knew the predicament I was in. I'd be dead by april or may of this year if not for it. It has let me slip under the radar of my parents so I can efficiently pretend to go to school while I plan my suicide and (try to) enjoy what little time I have left.

谢谢 , in reference to your name lol
Yeah covid sucks ass, it ruined my entire life basically and now I'm stuck in mexico and can't go home (14 day quarantine for CDNs upon arrival I will surely kill myself having to do that), and my whole career and industry in food destroyed, friends and romantic relationships all gone, life savings being drained.

Yes, in a positive way. I've met less people and consequently felt less social pressure. As the saying goes, hell is other people. I thoroughly enjoyed this spring, being able to live a semi-isolated life.

Covid-19 has taken any joy i ever had from me- sucked any life i had from me and drained the last dregs of will to live out of me.

I was considering ctb but arguing the point before covid and then it hit. Now, seeing small children with masks on waiting for the school bus made me sad.. last week when i wasn't numb.

I used to be an avid beader, jewelry maker and wire weaver. The hopelessness of the world view- the deaths- the constant onslaught of new rules, this is closed, can't do that... traditions cancelled... hate crimes rising... i feel like i'm witnessing the end of times... my creativity left me.

I don't sleep much. Don't eat much. Don't care enough to work on changing either thing either. I hardly ever see my nieces or anyone for that matter.

I rarely went out pre-covid but now i almost never go out and my social anxiety is terrible. Answering the telephone is terrifying. Making a phone call is crippling. I just can't.

I'm so much worse.

The pandemic is just one more reason to ctb for me... i can't live in a covid world and i don't see it ever going away.

It's made it so hard to brush myself off and start again. How to change career? Move to a new city? Meet people? I feel like I could beat the depression so much easier if the world was not at a halt. I hope it starts to heal soon.

A lot of people will lose their jobs (apart from Police, healthcare, government), and there will be no jobs to go for because as on the tv now in the UK - a basic wage job (lowest of the low) had 320 people apply, including managers, cabin crew, professional designers, etc - to stack shelves.

So we are going to definitely see a basic income introduced to help people survive, but everything that comes with it will be utterly shite.

Do as you're told - or else.

this is the kind of thin I'm worried about. After the Great Depression there was an economic upturn, so I'm really hoping something like that can happen again. But right now it's extremely hard.

Politicians like Boris Johnson are already saying we'll never go back to 2019 "we as humans want to improve, so we want to "build back better""

"Build Back Better" is being used by politicians and political parties all over the world - Biden, Australia, Canada, UN, etc.

They can't have all come up with the same slogan and idea at the same time and independently of each other, so clearly it's a co-ordinated plan from a central source.

And that source is the World Economic Forum - they aren't even trying to hide it any more, Prince Charles, The Gate's, etc are all chanting for it.

So guess what? Want it or not, that's what you're going to get.
