So my therapist canceled our session yesterday out of the blue with like 2 hours notice. I don't mind he just rescheduled our session for another date. This is the second time in a few years he canceled last minute. The first time was funny. He locked himself out of his office lol and told me we had to reschedule than too. I called him a moron and laughed at him really hard. Has this ever happen before to anyone else?

Yes my shrink does that all the time, that's why I never book on Fridays. That's usually the sessions he cancels.

It's very common, happens to my girlfriend all the time. I haven't bothered with therapists for years now. Those jokers can keep their time.

This happened to me once when I saw an in person therapist. She had a death in the family so it was understood that she cancelled.

Have you considered online therapy options? It might be more expensive because they generally don't accept insurance but there is no traveling involved. Also, since it's text based there is no cancelling appointments and you get responses multiple times a day 5 days a week. I gave up on therapy but I figured I would mention it to you as an option.

As far a I know therapists are supposed to be suuuper reliable, especially with clients who are not used to this kind of stability. Twice in a few years does not sound too bad to me, though. I cancel appointments on short notice way more often than that! Plus, you got to laugh at him for locking himself out :haha:

I pay out of pocket. I started seeing him remotely when I broke my finger while back. This question was more like to see if I'm just one of those people who are ditched by everyone. But feeling better now knowing it's not just me. Lol.

I did. And he did not get mad. Just looked at me like an asshole cause I ran really fast to get in his waiting room to laugh at him in person before we parted ways for a week.
