Thank you for the heads-up. I was thinking of downloading that very app. I'm autistic and haven't had any IRL friends in a while, so I thought of downloading it. But I'm glad I didn't now. .A lot of "friend" finding apps are used by people who are looking for "nothing serious". It can be pretty hit or miss. Especially on apps like bumble friends.
I'd say if you really struggle with this, and can't make friends through work or classes, go for it. Just be very cautious and very upfront what you're looking for. There are people who want to use it for it's intended purpose. And obviously be careful meeting these people irl, lots of secret intentions on apps like that. But if you can start getting your foot out the door socially and practice talking to people face to face it can still be good for you even if you don't make many longstanding friends(often what happens). If you do make some friends and can get involved in groups you might even be able to ditch apps and be a butterfly? :] I don't know how severely your autism impacts your ability to make friends but I hope you can meet people and grow as a person.Thank you for the heads-up. I didn't know this about the app, but it honestly makes a lot of sense. And someone sending you nudes right away is crazy; I'm glad he turned out to be a chill dude, though. It kind of reminds me of Chatroulette; I heard people use it for similar stuff. Also, I always like reading your posts.I used one before. It started off as something to use because I was bored but eventually it led to me sexting older men on it. Anyway, I don't know if they are necessarily a good place to make friends. There are probably some people who have been able to make very good friends and I have had some nice conversations with people on it. You need to be a bit careful though, as there are a good amount of people who specifically use those apps for dating or to get nudes. Some of the first interactions I had on one of them was someone sending me an unsolicited dick pic and another dude, in his 40s, asking me for titty pics (this was before I started to use the app for sexting). This was the first thing he said to me, btw. He was surprisingly pretty nice guy, but I doubt that most people would be into that.
I feel like there are probably much better ways to make friends, tbh.

Thank you for the advice. I have what used to be called Asperger's. My social skills aren't too bad, but I often struggle with social cues and am very shy. I also tend to think the best of people and often miss intentions. It has gotten me into some awkward situations in the past. I think taking classes is a good idea. I really like art, so I might look into some art-related activities.I'd say if you really struggle with this, and can't make friends through work or classes, go for it. ever hear of this thing called "ai" i heard it's a great way to make new friends you might want to check it outI've tried most of the dating and friends sites/apps at one point or another. Mixed results. The best one I was ever on was called Radar Rabbit. It was awesome. But like every other part of the net, it was flooded with twats and now is a shadow of its former self. This is the only site I'm on now.
It sounded like such a fun time . I'm sorry that the trolls had to ruin it. I'm glad the Sasu mods are good at keeping them at bay.I've tried most of the dating and friends sites/apps at one point or another. Mixed results. The best one I was ever on was called Radar Rabbit. Ooooo... you tempt me. Maybe I should be spontaneous and try it! And I'm sorry about your friend—it's rough. :( I lost my last friends after news of my attempt got around. Still really miss themYes, met two people from there. First one didn't go anywhere but I hit it off with the next person. I only wish I wasn't such a doomer so our friendship can continue to blossom.
If you're thinking of doing it go for it and enjoy the experience and your time. What have you got to lose.
