Has anyone overweight been able to compress the carotid artery?

I am 5'8 and 240 pounds. I have a somewhat big neck. Will I still be able to hang successfully?

I'm 5'5" (1.65 m) and 275 pounds (125 kg). I think people fatter than me have successfully hanged themselves. Just need a sturdier rope (or other ligature) and somewhere to attach the ligature that can handle the pressure of a lot of weight on it. This fellow who hanged himself in India was kind of chubby:
