I tried putting the rope around my neck and pull it with my arms as much as I can. I'm pretty strong so I'm sure it was more than my bodyweight of force.

I started losing conciousness immediately, there was static in front of my eyes consuming everything, same way I as when I lost conciousness a long time ago. It might be philosophically scary, but the sensation itself feels very neutral.

It wasn't at all as painful as I thought. It hurts but compared to getting hit in balls it is not even that bad.

It's almost scary how smooth and simple it is.

When you get it right, hanging is a very efficient way to kill yourself.

Am I crazy for preferring hanging to shooting myself? And that's knowing FSH will be brutal for a few moments

Oh man, thanks, ngl, just killed some fear for me for what felt like a "last resort" method. The thought of final moments being pain, discomfort, fear, etc... I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling the need to avoid those as much as possible

I'm the type of person to inhale gas with no oxygen (makes me pass out in under 10 seconds when in deep breaths of the zero oxygen gas inside the bag) while the noose is on my neck though I'm not yet suspended because I'm on a stool, and then when I feel like I am literally about to pass out and/or I pass out, then I kick the stool and let it completely block my windpipe or the so called 'airway' while I'm suspended, the only issue is, is that my body can move a lot like seizures and involuntary insane movements and might make the anchor/rope break and that's my fear. Because even if the anchor point and the rope can look like it won't break, it can still break if the rope/anchor was only able to hold my body weight for only 30 seconds or less and/or my body keeps jumping making either one of them break, that's my fear.

No... I agree with you in preferring shooting. I tried partial hanging a few years ago and failed miserably. After moving to a state where it's easier to buy a gun, I purchased one a few weeks ago... I'm now getting things in order before I call it a day,.

I think you disagree 😛 but that's okay. A gun is the rational choice. The shotgun I'm looking at would make my head explode in a split second.

Oops... Apparently, reading comprehension isn't my strength. Sorry!

I give you immense credit if you can make hanging work... I tried with partial hanging... I had to replace the rope with the 'right' one... then I had placement issues... then I had problems with my face bloating... and then the survival instinct kicked in. Complete failure on my part.

If that was me, at least, I wouldn't call that failure. The animal/living being instincts we were inherently and non-consentingly saddled with...

Totally can agree. "Violent", but hopefully/potentially basically instant and painless... And certainly feels like plenty choice involved and needed... So weird I used to feel it was a cowards way out, but now have gotten to feeling first hand how much bravery, having fought fear, etc, etc, is ACTUALLY the case... at least in non "impulsive" situations... Tho no judgement there, props on ANY way out. Creating choice from the foundation of no choice...

That's why I would preffer full suspension. I can't imagine going through the partial when throughout the whole process I'm able to back down.

Shotgun deffinitely. But with normal gun you need to hit the spot to pass out immediately. I think it's brain stem.

That has been the method I've been considering for the past few weeks, after ignoring ALL the advice EVERYONE gives about not trying it with benzo + alcohol. I think it might work better with full suspension instead of partial hanging, and even more so if you're hyperventilating, I can only imagine it will be quicker to lose consciousness.

hanging is my method of choice too but i can't find a freaking anchor point anywhere. i also don't know if i got the right type of rope since it's kinda hard to knot. ugh.

i tried partial a bunch of times and there was this one time i got it right and hit my sweet spot. shit felt amazing. but then SI kicked in (memories of my loved ones started flooding my mind) so i got up and stopped.

SO glad to have got the shotty. Still a touch scared of "missing" but most of those have been 'under the chins', shooting too straight up. The worst cases blowing off the whole face but surviving. Kinda hate in the mouth, but even if I hadn't read the entire thread around this, aiming, etc, don't think there should be TOO much chance for anything but success.

Oh and agree that if going with hanging, full suspension sounds like it. I've avoided reading about the method though. I guess, exactly, I'm too scared of the length of time, and at least discomfort if not full on bad pain. Just been SO happy to get to meet mr 12ga...
