It depends on how well you follow the procedure. An ideal hanging you pass out in seconds. SN or any other thing like it that makes your hemoglobin unusable just slowly makes your brain not receive enough oxygen and you pass out. Being found is the #1 reason for failure. Not using proper methods is number 2. Honestly the best methods are the ones where human error plays the least role in success. Pointing a gun at your head and pulling the trigger is scary but unless you fuck up big time you're done. Jumping off a tall building is impossible to survive but scary as fuck. The best methods are those that cause least amount of fear, pain and have the least chance of the person fucking it up. SN is praised on this website because the average person has little chance of fucking it up unless they make it easy to be found and it's relatively inexpensive and accessible (or used to be).
