Handgun suicide will there be pain?

Does anyone have any studies, articles etc. about if there will be pain by committing suicide by shooting yourself in the head with a handgun.

The only thing I could find is these two but they are just from Quora. But anything like this, articles or studies would be greatly appreciated.

Don't trust quora. They are full of pro lifers who scare people away from suicide no matter what method. I think if you shoot yourself in the head it's game over or you're completely unconscious. I heard behind the ear is for sure game over.

Although the ones I posted sounds to back up the idea that you die instantly, I mean I believe it too I have done so much research watched videos from gore forums where people get shot and die instantly even from a 22. so my fear is VERY irrational.

I was thinking to shoot myself just above the ear (temple shot) and apparently the brainstem is located there too so that is good.



Also this video where Ricardo Shoots himself in the temple around the spot I will shoot seems to be pretty damn quick but he uses a 45. and I will use a 9mm.

All I remember was waking up in the hospital with a concussion and my forehead bandaged. You are lucky you have access to a firearm. Wish I did. Even if I had just 1 bullet without the gun, it would be enough.

I have seen hundreds of those mostly on Documenting Reality If you scroll up you can see I have also added a video earlier in a SPOILER where a man shoots himself in the temple.

I know where to shoot the only thing I want to know is scientific proof of no pain if there are articles about that and thousands have shot themselves in the temple and died so I am going with that no gun under the chin or in the mouth just a temple shot above my right ear.

The chances of surviving a headshot is less than 1%. Unless you have won the lottery in the past I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes, and the key to behind the ear is to hit the brainstem, which is the vital part of the brain keeping your heart pumping and lungs breathing. When it is destroyed you will die very, very soon (within seconds). Also, yes if you shoot yourself in the head, you will (generally) fall unconscious due to the impact of the bullet.

I guess it depends on what you mean by 'vegetable' if you mean unconscious and just kept alive by a life support machine, then yes, you would be technically dead (on the outside) even though you may still be clinically alive.

i mean it like in a comatose like state. his body is there, he's alive, he can breathe without artificial support(maybe) but consciously he is gone. the part that makes him who he is(was) is not there. or like as if he was lobotomized if you will.

I'd avoid under the chin, might just shoot your face off. As for pain, Lostallhope.com lists it as just 13 in the pain score compared to 95 in self immolation.

I will use a 9mm 115 grains Jacket Hollow Point bullet.

i don't know if that thing will get to expand once it gets inside if you are going to shoot yourself pointblank. it will still blow a pretty big hole through your head once it comes out the other side. might as well use a shotgun if you have it. this way you are 100% sure to get it right.
