I think these centers should exist. Anybody who wants to die should be allowed to get an assisted suicide for whatever reason they want. The only regulation should be a 10 day waiting period between request and euthanasia.

There should be a choice of a firing squad or different types of lethal drugs.

God I would do just about anything to have something like that but it would never realistically happen. I wanna die peacefully but they'll never give it to me.

I'm pro-choice and i think humans should not be treated worse than dogs and cats that recieve peaceful euthanasia. But i think an idea like this can be easily abused to push certain people to die for commercial or racial reasons or cleansing the society from mentally-ill people. Also some relatives of the deseaced will always show up to accuse the goverment of killing their loved one now matter how many papers they signed.Alternatively i think changing the outlook to suicide and just not talking about it as such a huge taboo and something that should be avoided at all costs is more helpful and maybe not waging this huge drug-war aganist N should increase its availabilty and drive down its price.

The compromise I'd be willing to accept is that medics don't "save" you if they know you'll be a vegetable. Basically, if you shoot your face off, they do nothing and let nature take its course. No more Katie Stubblefield stories.

Yes and i think they should have a judging panel and televise it like they do with talent shows.
You get up on stage and have 5 mins to convince them why you should be allowed to ctb. They then either put you through to the next round or reject you. Could have the viewers vote too.

You should be allowed to get an assisted CTB for whatever reason you want. You shouldn't have to convince them there's a good reason for your suicide. You shouldn't even have to give them a reason for your suicide.

Was just a joke btw, mainly born out of the frustration of how difficult it is to ctb and how it would be in a society that didnt just accept it but also embraced it.
I think there would have to be some rules or guidelines as some people dont truly want to ctb and are acting over reactedly ie a young person who broke up with someone. I think it would be helpful for chronic mental health sufferers as euthanasia only tends to look at physical terminal illnesses.

At the very least, i think suicide should be destigmatized.
And/or governments could make suicide kits available. Like an EB kit or an SN kit, or any other method that causes little to no permanent damage if aborted and can't be used to poison others. Of course this is all easier said than done, but it's still interesting to think about.

It seems comforting from a first person perspective, but in reality it's a shockingly bad idea. It would be abused at the cost of life before you could click a finger.

Euthanasia should never be a simple accessible option . My personal view is that death should be the last resort after all other options have been thoroughly explored and exhausted . Many people try to ctb while in emotional turmoil or distress , it's their prerogative but I don't view that as a something good (you may). One should come to terms with their demise , if they choose so , rationally , and it should be done with compassion and care . That's my view .

I do not think one should be allowed to get an assisted CTB for whatever reason .

I am in support of this idea. I would add maybe a few more criteria just to ensure that there is zero (or close to zero) chance of abuse. I would say such a person would have to be a legal adult, go through a psychological screening (to also make sure they understand their choice), go through a video taped consent, written consent, and their background would be checked to ensure they aren't being coerced, pressured, or others doing it in order for their personal gain.
