I'M here because today last year I attempted. Obviously it didn't work I spoke openly to a physiatrist, it saved me. If you wish to attempt please try every other option first, I feel better then ever now but I still have a ways to go. Never give up until all options are iver

Define "all options." Do you really mean that we should literally try EVERYTHING? If so, nobody would die from suicide since we'd all drop dead of old age as we struggled to complete that endless list that includes everything.

It's rational to stop after giving life a reasonable effort. Trying all options is simply ridiculous.

I know I'm the opposite of this site now..and Im pro choice but that's not what this site does at all.... give therapy and pills a chance it saved me. Please 8f you chose death then finish my options first

And what exactly does this site do? I keep seeing members suggest that folks delay when they post that they're about to finally end it. And what should this site be? Should it be yet another site that spreads a BS message of how you absolutely positively must live because life is so exceptionally wonderful?

You could volunteer on a suicide lifeline. They want folks like you. We won't be calling.

I often ask people to delay and step back and think about it all. Death is very final as far as we know. Taking another 30 minutes to think about that is ok is it not, after all, it aint a race. I find a lot of members here as impulsive as I was the first time I attempted and I wish I had someone to tell me to stop and think about it. I might have done a little more research and been successful.

Dont forget this is a pro choice site. It provides info and resources so we can make informed choices, not impulsive ones.

As for me, Im not trying all options. I cant imagine a worse rabbit hole to fall into.

A few are, though it seems most members are not at all impulsive. In fact, some have been lingering around here since last year even though you can read their horrifying tale of severe mental & physical problems that have no viable solution other than death. They'd be better off if they were impulsive enough to CTB. They suffer greatly from their total lack of impulsivity.

There are a few who are impulsive and I too would advise them to calm down and come up with a good plan before taking action. One example: the kid in a hospital right after an attempt who was asking if he should hang himself with a TV cord. I advised him not to do something so monumentally stupid, as did others.

In your opinion. As none of us can know the infinite options or have experienced them all, its then their choice what course of action they take. Better off is also subjective. But anyway, its good to see a positive outcome on these forums for a change.

Well it's nice that you're better. But telling others to try absolutely EVERYTHING is just unreasonable. You have to be careful what you DO try though, because sometimes you'll come out worse than you came in.

Yes, I think this post is more for the impulsive then those who mulled over ctb for months or even years, I was impulsive so that's where my experience is
