Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

i don't have any good anchor points for full hanging where i live so i'm using a door hinge for partial instead. it seems strong enough, and i'm currently on a diet of chia seeds and water to hopefully lose even more weight until i reach 50kg. all the knots are self-tightening. nylon strap instead of rope is not ideal but it's the best i have at the moment. i'm thinking of using a sock or bed sheet for padding.

if this doesn't work, i'll practice with this and try full hanging at the forest. problem is i live in a pretty densely populated country so the chance of being found is high. that's why i would rather do it at home if possible :) thoughts?

thoughts?

If you're looking for feedback, here are my thoughts.

Sometimes it's hard to eyeball a setup based on pictures, so this is just an opinion. Your setup looks okay to me, with some caveats. It depends on how strong the door and the hinge are. It's important to test them first. Seems strong enough ≠ actually strong enough. If you've tested the setup, and it can hold your full body weight safely, it should work.

Based on the photos, it looks like you'll be on the side that pushes the door open? Ideally, the door should be closed and locked. If you can't lock the door, you also need to test whether the setup can still hold your weight even if the door is open.

The strap itself looks strong enough, so it should be fine.

Weight. I don't know what your current weight is, but a few kilograms won't make much difference. It doesn't matter whether you're 50, 55, or 60 kg. If your anchor point is not strong enough to hold 60 kg, for example, it's not strong enough to hold 50 kg either. You need a larger safety margin than that. Or, if you're over 100 kg now, and want to get to 50 kg, then good luck. :)

Regarding practising, you cannot 'practise' using this setup. If you use this setup, that's not practise but an actual attempt. It makes no sense to practise when the rope is fixed to an anchor point. You'll either succeed and die, or you'll learn nothing and won't experience what passing out feels like.

If you just want to practise, throw the rope (strap in your case) over the door, and simply hold the other end in your hand. If you do this, you'll automatically release the rope when you start passing out, so it's relatively safe. Make sure the rope can slide easily. Also make sure there are no sharp objects around in case you fall.

Forests can work. I plan to do it in the woods too. However, it's important that you know the area, because you need to be sure that no one will find you too soon. Doing it in the middle of the night is a good option. For example, there aren't many people around between 2 and 4 a.m.

thank you so much for your advice, it is really useful !

i love the idea of partial hanging because i get to maintain control until the very end. full hanging forces you to consciously endure the finality of your choice once the chair is kicked. my approach with partial is to go further and further every day until it eventually works. it's not so bad, one of the gentlest ways to die, i think!
