• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Hey friends, been a while. Have once again found myself back in the only place I can speak openly, and I thought y'all might have some input for a list I'm trying to make tonight. I'm in a practical mood and I'm a big planner so I thought I'd make a note for myself about what practical things to do before the time comes.

Here's what I have so far (it's very personal and individual of course, some or all may not apply to you... I'm a "leave no trace of myself" kinda person, but you do you!)
- Perma-delete all socials - facebook, insta, reddit etc (also this account!)
- Cancel subscriptions - ChatGPT (i use this as my journal so I would delete all threads), payTv etc
- Wipe devices - phone, laptop, tablets etc
- Destroy any physical journals/notebooks
- Leave usernames and passwords of bank accounts to make it easier for people to sort your financials when it's done?
- Make a will (if you can be bothered going through this process...)
- Leave a note/letter (personally undecided, but included it just in case/optional)

That's... it. I feel like I'm missing things? But maybe it is that simple..
What would you add?

I made a checklist too! For me I wrote to find a way to make sure my belongings can go to the people I care about or those in need, like my clothing or stuff that my friends might want like my Switch or gaming PC. Obviously this is just me personally, but I wanna be useful even after death too, I guess lol

My list is practically the same, but I had to find someone to take my cat after im gone. Its hard leaving the only thing that truly loved me behind, but its better in the end ❤️

If you have any form of finances, adding beneficiaries to accounts. Particularly things like any pensions (in the UK anyway people are auto-enrolled now). Not 'essential' I guess as otherwise it just gets swept into your 'estate' and get sorted by next of kin, but if you want some money to go to a particular person or charity or whatever thats not your legal next of kin.

Is it bad that I'm down to just leave everything behind and open because then people would get why I did it? and might understand my pain?

I'm similarly increasingly thinking of leaving access to here discoverable (rather than hiding/randomising the login) because my posts and profile have become more of a complete journal and better for trying to articulate my jumble than anything I have got close to achieving IRL, on paper, in therapy, in person. But also aware it could backfire given the typical reactions to this site from those left behind.

Destroying my notebooks wouldn't be the worst idea. I might do that later if I can find all of them.
