I am getting very scared that there are no good ways to CTB... For a long time, I thought a shotgun would be my method, but there are just too many reports of people failing and surviving... next I thought hanging might be a good way, but there are many survivors with hanging also... same for just about every method... why does suicide have to be so hard?

I share the same feeling with you. Sometimes I ask myself why there aren't more clinics around the world just like those in Sweden or some country like that that allow people to commit suicide in some cases.
For real, but honestly all methods have risks :/. I think your best bet is to do research. Some part of it is luck too.
the research is what scares me... because the research tells me that every method has a risk of survival.. survival as a vegetable, blind, or paralyzed
I know, but at least you have a better idea on how it can be successful. Sometimes it gets overwhelming and I just give up even fucking trying. Then the urges get strong again and its back to attempting.
It also scares me too, being a vegetable, paralyzed, etc.
I just hope sometimes a serial killer gets me. It will be a sure job.

I also overthink the "what if"s. That's why I'm hoping when the day comes I do a combination of methods but I would have to strategically plan.
Is waking up brain dead all that bad though? I haven't read much about it but if you're brain dead, wouldn't that affect our memories somehow? Hopefully it could make us forget the bad.
I did see an article once of a mother who had to take care of her grown son because he attempted and became paralyzed for life. They said it's a very painful experience and a life of agony. So it's def. an outcome to be very fearful of.
If it were an "easy" button to die though, how many people out there do you think would push it just because life went wrong at a point. Probably more than half the world.

I don't think it's brain death a lot of people are afraid of. If you're brain dead, your family can pull the plug on you and respect your wishes and it's generally what most hospitals will advocate that they do. It's ending up somewhere in the middle between normal life and brain dead people are afraid of.

It all depends on how it's done. Personally it think once you have N with antacids that it's a done deal for the most part.
