Getting drugs from dentists rather than doctors in the U.S. ... What is available to them?

I want to see my dentist for a dental appointment. In the U.S., what drugs are dentists allowed to prescribe? The current, online PPH doesn't mention dentists at all! I was surprised.

I don't want to go to the same medical doctor that I used in the past. She wouldn't write a prescription without doing many laboratory tests first.

when i got a root canal my dentist blew my mind & prescribed me hydros, but a v v v low dose. i doubt you'd be able to kys w just that tbh.
