Been wondering if anyone had any bright ideas about how to go about getting a firearm. I'm about to turn 21 soon, but I haven't yet, and I'm sort of having trouble figuring out how to obtain a gun should I decide I need to bail out before my next birthday.

I figure worst case scenario I'll opt for full suspension in a pinch, but I really am not all that bright to put it bluntly and I worry that with my luck I'll still fuck it up.

I don't really know anyone who would help me buy a gun if I tried to ask. I'm not really asking anyone to suggest illegal ideas or anything lol just wondering if there's anything I haven't considered.

I can't purchase one legally because of psych history, but my plan at one point was to just go to a range lol.

I am no suggesting/encouraging this. I'm just stating my personal experience.

Do you mind if I ask you about your photo? You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

It really all depends on where you live and your history. I live in a state with strict gun laws but was still able to get a gun, I don't have it anymore because it got seized by the cops.

Sure - it's a Salvador Dali painting of the crucifixion of Jesus - I'm a firm agnostic but I'm also a huge Christology freak, I've done a ridiculous amount of research on Jesus as a character, and the synoptic gospels (+ John) and stuff. Dali has a couple paintings of the crucifixion, his are interesting because he sort of prefers a surrealist approach, and also said he didn't like to depict the crucifixion as super gorey because it tainted the depiction of Jesus or something.
This sort of started because I really love Jesus Christ Superstar (I've written a massive research paper on it, that I've done research for over about three or four years now), which is what my username
"My god I saw him, he looked three quarters dead, and he was so bad I had to turn my head"
is a reference to also.

Oh okay, thank you. I asked because I'm a Born Again Christian. I know, it seems twisted that I'd be suicidal. I can't figure that one out myself, except to say mental health is a beyotch. I love the writings of Gary Habermas and Lee Strobel. They really get deep into the historicity of the Resurrection.

This -- I live in a state where you can get whatever you want pretty much whenever you want as long as you are not a felon or have a psych history. My late husband was a bit of a gun nut so I have more guns than I know what to do with ... Lol How ironic, huh?

OMG I LOVE Salvadore Dali's work. I was an Art Major in college -- back in the Stone Ages.

And what an interesting mix of people we have here -- I am a witch. But I also am a Christian. It is an unusual path, I know, but so far it is the one that rings most true for my spirit. And I have studied an awful lot of different religions over the years -- mostly because I have no problem dating people who do not believe as I do. I have learned an awful lot that way.

Very interesting. Strobel sounds familiar. I'll have to check them both out =]

Also very interesting. I'm in a blue state with pretty decent gun laws so it's just a bit tricky here. I dont have a super well documented psych history, and my criminal record was clean. The whole FOID thing is sort of intimidating that's the main reason I haven't gone for it yet.

That's very cool, my close friend is an art history minor, and I'm a philosophy major lolol.

That's also cool, that is true that there's a very interesting combo of people we have lol

I think it's ridiculous that someone can't get a gun, just because of a psych history. I mean, not to get political, but, nowhere in 2A does it say, "...shall not be infringed, except people who are labeled by a Dr". Haha.
