Gambled Myself To Death.

Here i am. Got my ass into so much debt that my only way out is my life insurance. There's no other way around, i just can't let people i love deal with the stress i cause them. I can't help it, i keep gambling everything away, i lie to people i love. Also got myself in debt with really bad people... I chose hanging as my method. i'll do it in about a few minutes in a wooded area. I don't want my body to be found next year tho. I thought i'd write down coordinates that are close enough to the place i'll pick on my suicide note. Been reading this forum and really helped me rationalize things. I wish you all the peace you deserves.

Life has a lot of moving parts involved and when they start breaking down and you keep just maintaining them when there are no new parts available your just prolonging the inevitable collapse.

If it did work, I hope you found peace. Gambling is such a cruel invention, made to prey upon people who have addictive personalities. I hate how widespread it is. I am so angry that there are so many people who have taken their lives because of it. What a waste in the name of profit.

because, in my knowledge, insurance companies put a clause against death by suicide, so your loved ones would get nothing

are you still here? I'm not saying not to do it, but I just want to make sure you've explored all your options first
there are organisations giving free financial and debt advice. self exclusion schemes, blocking software, bank merchant blocking. depending on your location possibly free therapy plus lots of online / in person recovery groups. there are ways to help protect your money in future. you could have a trusted person help manage or look after your money for you
also in the uk we have organisations like "stop loan sharks"

I'm sorry you've found yourself in this situation. Gambling addiction really needs destigmatising, it's treated about the worst of all addictions at this point. I suppose because of the effect it so often has on other people. In the chance you didn't go though with CTB I really hope you can get help. You should probably come clean to your family and let someone else take control of your finances so you can't gamble anymore. They will probably be mad as hell but in the long run it's better to tell them now than have them find out later when you've gambled even more. Like a PP said, there are a lot of tools to prevent you from gambling and people who can give you debt advice. I'm so saddened you felt like CTB was your only way out of this
