Fuck cold especially. Whenever i get out of the bed i have to freeze to oblivion. i hate to wear 545948549583453 layers of clothes and then feel too warm. you either freeze or get too hot, there's no in between. Last friday I started cleaning 30 mins later because i couldn't stand freezing anymore and had to get under a blanket again. The heaters are fully functioning but I still freeze. My hands are always cold. I have to let the AC on heating mode hours and hours and will probably see an increase to my electricity bill while before i didn't have to pay much.

And then there's snow. Fuck snow. Thankfully it didn't really snow here that much. But first time it did which was last week I almost threw up. Snow makes me more suicidal and depressed than I already am. All of that turns into ice and of course there's the risk of falling and hurting yourself or even break something as if there weren't enough traps like this in life already. I get depressed only at the thought of how the real winter will begin from February onwards.

While this all may seem stupid, winter brings more suffering to me than any other season.

Sorry if this sounds incoherent, I'm pretty lightheaded atm.

Winter is the only bearable time of year here. Today it's going to be 80F/26C. In the Summer and most of the year it gets up to 40C+ regularly.

You live up north?

Personally, I prefer winter to summer, which we are currently in right now, although it's a bit different because we don't get snow where i live. I just cant function at work whenever it's hot.

Damn wish I lived in such a country where it's warm like that even in winter, although I can't bear too much heat either.

I live in Southeastern Europe and the worst degree i ever experienced where I live was -14C/6.8F which happened 3-4 years ago.

At least you can move to Spain and Thailand, your people do all the time. We southeastern europeans are stranded there with no choice but ugly, massively depressive frozen ladnscape and smell of pollution and coal burning everywhere. Homeless dogs and cats everywhere, freezing, not to forget mentioning them.

I always wondered, when people first set out across the world long ago, wtf were they thinking in settling places that are cold? If humans originated in Africa or the middle east, they had to consciously keep walking north, even after it got cold.

Hm yeah, they were probably not strong enough to survive in the desert. Not sure why, if the first human settlements were along the Nile, the Euphrates etc.. Maybe their food was preserved for longer? Or weather in the north was milder outside winters, idk.

I like winter and the cold, but I live in California where 60 degrees Fahrenheit is already too cold for some people. I suppose snow would suck if one had to deal with it everyday and I'd definitely not envy having to drive in it. I'm sorry it has to be like that for you.

Mammoths probably tasted really good plus they provided enough fur to also keep warm and hunt more mammoths. 😂

I can't stand extreme hot weather either so.. I don't know where it would be best to live?

I TOTALLY agree with you. I live in the upper Midwest in the U.S., and it is very cold and dark this time of year and I very much dislike it. In fact, today, 12.26.21 we are under a winter storm warning for at least 7 inches of snow then below zero (Fahrenheit). I do not mind winter weather as long as it is not mind numbing cold and feet and feet of snow.

I have, long time ago, before my car crash, cross country skied in minus 30 below (Fahrenheit) with a 50 below wind chill and now days I cannot do anything of that nature anymore.

Everyone on SS, please stay healthy and away from the darn Covid virus.

I think the hot weather is the worst in my opinion. It is very unpleasant having to deal with the heat, it always makes me feel worse. I personally prefer winter.

I'm in Germany and to me winter is too fucking light and warm. Tried to die from freezing in the snowy forest at -13 C (it rarely gets that cold) but it didn't work. Apparently that was not nearly cold enough.

Feeling cold and shivering is the closest I have to feeling myself. I love it.

If I had the means, I'd move to Northern Scandinavia and die in a dark winter snowstorm.

I literally feel anxious at 30C normal day and feel like dying at 16C. The good days outside are rare.

That's your choice of course. The easiest choice to make, given that you are from one of the richest countries and the much obvious elephant in the room money isn't a problem. Just take a look at climate zones or average daily temperatures and go.

Look. Just because I'm from one of the richest countries doesn't mean I have money. Why on earth would you think that? I have money issues every month.

Because there are much more ways to have money there. Even if you've never worked a day in your life. I'm yet to see a poor northern european without an own car, own house, with their own gaming PC, a vacation to Thailand every other month, separate from parents and what else, unless they are an immigrant, legal or not. Nobody at least is ever going to say it in public

I don't have my own place. After me and the X split up. I'm out of work and live with my aunt. Yes I have a car, but it's not new at all. I don't have vacations to Thailand every other month. I don't know which TV shows you watch where this happens, but it's not my life you've watched.

And I don't own a gaming pc. My money goes to food and clothes and just staying alive.

There are also homeless people here.

How come you are so much an expert on North European countries?
