Anybody ever consider this like me? Actually it was my go-to method for quite a while some years back. Getting piss drunk, go outside in next to no clothes, pass out from the alcohol, and let hypothermia do the job. I read that's its not really painful.......well, it would be HIGHLY uncomfortable until hypothermia set it, but hypothermia in itself is not supposed to be painful from what I've read.

gotta consider if anyone will see you and try and help, but it could work, you'd have to drink a lot without throwing up though. I wouldn't advise it too many risks

Ive thought about it,but I just hate being cold..I would be uncomfortable as hell laying there waiting to die and shivering.Maybe the alcohol would help, being super drunk.

I think you'll be found and "saved". Just be ready to wake up in hospital without legs and hands. After that your next attemp will be extremely hard.

Just to be clear. I dont consider this method as of now. I am just interesting in hearing others opinion on this method......maybe somebody has tried it and can provide a first hand experience?
I my mind when I was considering it my plan was to go to a deserted place, like a forest at night.......hardly any chance of being found. Like I said I am not going for this method now, but I am interested in discussing pro's and con's of it.

First hand experience sounds really funny in that case :)

I thought about that myself. There is a bit of swamp and rivers in my area. During some cold day, just go into the water or spray myself with a hose so I'm really wet. And just hang out outside.

I'm honestly not sure about the chances of it working out, me passing out, and so on. I guess I can get myself extremely exhausted. But ya...

I haven't tried it, but I have brushed with nerve damage, if someone discovers you before you die, you will not be able to move your fingers/toes properly for a long time. So you'd risk any future ctb attempts

Yeah that would suck.

I wonder how long would it take to die from this though? I am thinking in a few hours you would be a goner, and if it was carried out in a deserted place then the risk of being found would be about zero.

I guess when your body IS discovered much later, you would at least be a goodlooking, well preserved corpse. With the freezing and lack of insects and all.I think I would have to take a hand full of narcotics to knock me out along with that alcohol though.

I actually never considered what it would take to knock me out with alcohol. I always thought it would be fairly easy.......juat a matter of drinking enough, then your system would surely shut down eventually.......or?
Well I have a couple alcoholic family members and they have passed out drunk numerous times from drinking A LOT over the course of a day, as witnessed by me.

but what about those people who sink to the bottom of a river, then days later are found and resuscitated? That's another risk, you might appear dead but if slowly warmed up you'll live

Has that really happened? That sounds like some urban legend.......how could a person possibly survive being in a frozen river for days.

it's like....err.....y'know in sci-fi films sometimes people do cryogenic freezing to preserve their body? I think walt disney did it with his head in the hope he could live on when technology develops. It's a similar thing, it's real, unlikely but quite possible

I doubt it because oxygen and we aren't a fish. But it is possible to make someone cold enough where basically they are on that line and then you can slowly warm them up. Idk how long is too long, but that is something that should be researched.

I think in hospitals when they want to bring someone's temp down to work on them. They bring it down to somewhere in the 50 degree f range (I could be wrong). But I know there is a lower limit of no return. Like I know if we freeze then we die since unlike some animals. We don't have anything to stop the ice crystals from bursting out cells.
