I finished Kafka's The Metamorphosis literally yesterday and I think a lot of it is painted as more depressing than it actually is.
Granted it is a commentary on the brutality of how easily humanity can be lost in the eyes of others and the rising cruelty that comes with losing said humanity (your worth is always fluid and based on perspective), but I think it's more of an absurdist comedy rather than like..something nihilistic.
Any thoughts?
