I mean what cause the first intial thing to exist? did it always exist? but how does always something just exist?

what triggered the circumstance? i heard there was some physical things but what brought about those?

its very confusing and tough to think about???
i can see why some people use religion and god now.

but im atheist so i prefer reason , logic and science.

but i just cannot answer or fathom what was first or what sparked anything intially.

it can always just go back to " but what created that?" " but what caused that?"

its mind boggling.

No idea, I'm very fond of the Big Bounce theory, basically an oscillating Big Bang, the universe dies and starts over and over again i guess. So the start wasn't really the Start and the end won't be really the End according to that. Just wish we were born on a better planet than this… whole entire universe and we ended up on capitalist earth, lol

Okay but what created that FIRST universe?

and what existed before that universe?

who knowns but the universe is a mystery that nobody can ever understand. so life and death so being in the moment all a mystery, where did it all start and how does something come from nothing

We have no way of knowing what did or did not exist prior to this universe. What I don't like is thinking about how the universe has known boundaries that are expanding...but expanding into what? What is the space outside the universe? Toooo much to think about.

My Mass Effect styled theory is that the universe keeps being destroyed and reborn, with an advanced civilisation made super futuristic god like creation insuring the bigbang happens in a specific way that guarantees a similarly repeated cycle. Or some asshole managed to discover time travel and fucked things up so much that it's going to be impossible to know what came first since the little shit caused like, all the paradoxes.

Idk what I am but i believe things just are. I'm for sure about logic though.

If you put a piece of food in a bottle and close the lid, mold will form but the mold wasn't there when you put it in there. We are the mold in a way.

Everyone was already here, just in a different combination than we are now. In a million years, everything that makes me, me, will still be here, but in a different combination depending on the variables

Interesting to think about

I think that mathematics has already shown this "first initial thing", as you put it, was perfectly capable of existing all on its own just because it always has. Remember the "nothing can be created or destroyed" law?

For me, being able to admit my ignorance is a crucial part of my belief system. There are limits to our ability to reason.

Pretending like I have all the answers would just be a lie to me, and I can't respect those who do.

I don't really give a crap. All I know is that life on this planet is cruel & unfair & that there's nothing magical about it.

We don't know. But some of the ideas out there are fascinating. I recently came across someone wondering if the universe created itself…makes my brain hurt…

Time is probably a bounded infinite set. Just like the age of the universe, the set of positive numbers has an infimum but no "beginning."

As an aside, it's already an assumption to say the BB had to be "caused." It's a fallacy of composition to say that the BB had to have a cause just because everything we observe has a cause.

If you're into science, reason, and logic, you have to accept there are things we don't know and may never find out, given there is a non-zero chance of human extinction.

It's quite confusing and I don't think there can be a simple answer to this. There are lot of quantum physics throries and paradoxes out there, which are mind boggling and which cannot just be explained in a simple causal way. They also say that time didn't exist before big bang so nothing can be 'before' the bb. Whatever the ultimate mystery maybe, I don't believe any human can completely comprehend it, with a limited dimensional and greedy mind.
